How you will impact the organization…
The Director of Software Engineering will direct the software development activities of multiple engineering teams for Consensus’ product offerings as well as internal business application systems.
Candidate must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate the implementation of applications against the functional and technical specifications as well as excellent process and leadership skills to mentor team members in a geographically-diverse environment.

- Work closely with Product Management, Project Management, and Quality Assurance to ensure that applications and internal systems are developed in a timely manner, on budget, with required functionality and high quality
- Coordinate with other Engineering managers to effectively deliver product updates
- Deliver on Consensus’ product strategy and product roadmap including both external products and internal business systems.
- Manage the day to day activities of development and cross functional teams
- Contribute to product architecture efforts
- Review Project Design Documents on key initiatives
- Work closely with project management and development team leads to ensure delivery to design
- Display solid fiscal responsibility by managing and adhering to budgets and always seeking out operating efficiencies and economies.
- Work with Quality Assurance teams ensure the efficient and stable release of new product offerings
- Demonstrates an inclusive, roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic by showing a willingness to participate in daily workloads when needed to make deadlines.
- Stay current on industry and competitive trends
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies as appropriate
- Participate in the development and evangelization of the coding and architectural standards within the organization.

What you will bring to the table…
- 15+ years experience with progressive growth in Leadership and Management experience in commercial software development
- 15+ years of experience in developing large commercial web-based applications
- 8+ years of architecture experience
- 2+ years experience in a people leadership role
- 15+ years of experience with progressive growth in Leadership and Management experience in commercial software development
- Demonstrated experience successfully leading teams in a dynamic, fast time to market and customer focused environment.
- Consistently exhibits a personal accountability to outcomes to all team members, peers, and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Extensive experience leading multinational, distributed development teams
- 15+ years of experience developing large commercial web-based applications such as
- Thorough knowledge of web client development technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS3, jQuery, JSP, ASP, Nodejs, React, Angular, etc.)
- Good understanding of current major development technologies (Oracle, MS Sql Server, MySql, JAVA, .NET, Telecommunications, REST, SOAP, JSON, etc.)
- Technical skills at a senior level of expertise
- Knowledge of cloud-based and SaaS-based application delivery models
- Excellent writing and speaking skills
- Self-starter/Able to take initiative in difficult situations
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet deadlines

- Understanding of internationalization requirements and limitations

- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance

- Location requirements: Fully remote within the U.S. (Los Angeles, Las Vegas or Braintree, Massachusetts preferred.)
- Travel requirements: Up to 15% travel.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods, as well as, handle long periods of screen time.
- Technology requirements: Reliable, high speed internet

- Security clearance: Ability to achieve and maintain a security clearance with the U.S. Government is required
The salary range for this role is up to $190,000 USD. [The total compensation package for this position is negotiable and may also include [annual performance bonus, ESPP, enhanced time off packages and benefits.]
