The Director of Software Development is responsible for leading and overseeing software development teams, including several Software Development Managers, to ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of software projects. The Director of Software Development plays a critical role in leading, managing, and directing software development teams to create high-quality software products that meet business goals and objectives. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.

We are looking for a Director of Software Development who will:

  • Lead other managers and several software development teams, offering recruitment, mentoring, and performance evaluations
  • Provide visionary leadership to multiple software development teams, setting clear objectives and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
  • Develop and implement strategies for software development that align with business needs and long-term plans 
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards 
  • Effectively communicate project status, milestones, and any potential roadblocks to stakeholders 
  • Manage and allocate budgets and resources for software development projects, optimizing resource utilization

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 10+ years of software development leadership experience
  • Strong technical background with hands-on development experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills in the face of multiple competing priorities
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Agile experience preferred
  • DevOps experience preferred
  • Complex ordering experience is a plus
  • Database experience is required
  • Managing multiple teams
  • Strong managing skills and technical leadership
  • Success in developing talent and performance management

Position Pay Range:

This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to geographical location and experience.

$145,003.36-$232,000.53

This role is eligible for a bonus opportunity.
