JOB DESCRIPTION

The FOX Sports Digital team is looking to hire a Director of Social to oversee our portfolio of sport-specific and podcast social media accounts. This is a leadership role responsible for the development and execution of social strategies around some of the biggest events in sports, including the Super Bowl, FIFA World Cup, and Indy 500. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in social media or sports production, with a proven track record of building and managing teams, developing original content, and delivering results across growth and monetization.

The Director of Social will lead the teams behind accounts such as NFL on FOX, MLB on FOX, FOX Soccer, the Joel Klatt Show, and Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour. The Director will play a critical role in maximizing FOX Sports’ presence and impact on social media, both during live events and in the time between.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage social strategy and execution across FOX Sports’ sport-specific and podcast accounts
  • Set the tone and content priorities for each vertical based on business goals: live coverage, brand amplification, growth, and monetization
  • Manage a team of producers to execute compelling content around live events and shoulder programming
  • Collaborate closely with programming, production, editorial, design, video, sales, marketing, and talent teams to align on major initiatives
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the sports calendar and oversee real-time coverage of key tentpole events
  • Develop and mentor young talent, fostering a creative and collaborative team culture
  • Analyze performance data to inform strategy and optimize future content
  • Help evolve our use of AI tools and automation in content production workflows
  • Ensure content upholds FOX Sports’ standards for editorial integrity, voice, and quality

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 10+ years of experience in social media, digital content production, or television production
  • Experience managing large teams and collaborating across departments at a senior level
  • Deep knowledge of the sports landscape and passion for multiple sports
  • Proven ability to grow audiences and drive revenue through social content
  • Strong understanding of each social platform and how to program natively for them
  • Strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with content creation tools such as Photoshop, Premiere, and emerging AI platforms
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead brainstorms, pitch ideas, and align stakeholders
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends, especially around major events and live sports

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $128,000.00-165,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
