This is a remote position.

Growth Marketing Pro (GMP) is a hyper-growth SEO, GEO, paid, and Reddit growth marketing agency trusted by leading companies like Adobe, Quicken, HiBob, and Dutch. We’re looking for an experienced Head of Content to lead our content function and own team performance, content quality and innovation, and measurable business impact across our client portfolio.

This is a senior, client-facing leadership role for someone who is equal parts content strategist, editor, people manager, and operator. You’ll set the bar for quality, guide strategy, and ensure our content work drives real results for clients.

What you’ll do:

As Head of SEO Content, you will serve as the senior content leader for both clients and the internal team. You will own content conversations with clients, confidently addressing content quality, SEO/GEO content strategy, and CRO, while guiding them on how content drives measurable results. Internally, you will lead, manage, and build out the content team (L1–L4), setting clear expectations, priorities, and work plans to ensure consistent, high-quality execution. You will define, document, and uphold GMP’s writing, editing, and quality standards, and partner closely with senior leadership to improve client profitability, team efficiency, and the overall impact of GMP’s content services.

You’ll be accountable for:
  • Rigorously managing and executing only the highest quality client deliverables on time
  • Working with internal GMP teams to deliver and optimize channel strategy for both SEO and GEO
  • Developing strong internal processes that enable scale and predictable delivery
  • Hiring and building out the content team
  • Managing content team performance, development, and clear ownership across content initiatives
  • Driving measurable SEO/GEO content results aligned with client and business goals
  • Maintaining and improving client satisfaction, content NPS, and long-term relationships
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in content marketing and SEO/GEO, with experience managing teams
  • Proven ability to lead SEO content optimization and editing at a high level
  • Strong client-facing presence and comfort owning senior-level client conversations
  • Experience coaching and developing content managers, editors, and writers
  • Deep understanding of SEO content strategy, on-page SEO, and performance analysis
  • Ability to set quality standards and hold teams accountable to them
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of AI and ability to improve and automate your workflows using AI platforms/automation tools
  • Detail-oriented with incredible organizational, prioritization, and project management skills
Benefits
  • We’re fully remote. We give everyone the space they need to set their own hours and do their best work. We support flexible schedules and don’t micro-manage.
  • We have unlimited PTO. One of GMP’s core values is work-life balance and we fully believe it.
  • Healthcare options. Everyone has access to healthcare benefits including dental!
  • There’s lots of growth potential. Work with other expert Growth Marketers to hone your craft and grow in areas you’re interested in.
  • You can make an impact. Join a fast-growing startup and make a meaningful impact on the trajectory of the business.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
