POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director, Sales is responsible for growing the Partake Foods business & executing sales and marketing programs across key grocery / natural / mass channels. This person will own relationships with both retailers and brokers. They must be critically aware of industry happenings & best practices, competition, and overall strategy to help achieve sales goals.

The Director, Sales will utilize data to analyze organizational performance in key accounts, build "win/win" selling stories and identify solutions & opportunities for growth. The role reports to the VP, Sales.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sell new and expanded distribution of Partake Foods brands to existing retailers. Experience working with some / all current retailers and brokers preferred.
  • Own and build relationships with retailers, brokers, and our internal cross-functional partners. 
  • Develop a strong understanding of retailer business needs and pain points and develop plans to address those needs.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate sales results cross-functionally to ensure effective execution of retail plans and promotions.
  • Build diligent and detailed follow-up plans on all new distribution and promotional activity.
  • Manage the internal forecast of core, innovation and seasonal offerings by retailer.
  • Execute account plans and retail budget in order to maximize profitable sales goals.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed and professional sales presentations for account business reviews and sales calls.
  • Uncover opportunities and grow volume in the target account base.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by management.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 7 years Consumer Package Goods sales experience with a strong understanding of category management and customer management required
  • Analytical skills and understanding of syndicated data (SPINS) preferred
  • Proven track record in building good relationships with retail customers, internal partners, and brokers; achieve performance goals with a minimum of direction
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to gather and use customer feedback to identify customer and market needs and challenges; diligence and ability to follow through on all commitments (internal and external stakeholders)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Resilience and adaptability, thriving in dynamic, fast-paced environments while maintaining focus on company goals and brand integrity
  • Ability to think outside the box and identify and act on opportunities
  • Willingness and ability to travel often
