Note to Applicants: This role requires 3+ years of direct sales experience selling SaaS/software to Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Real Estate firms. Applications without demonstrable ConTech/PropTech sales experience will not be considered.

Acelab is the all-in-one building materials hub for the Design, Construction and Real Estate industries. Acelab streamlines material selection, comparison and management for architects and engineers with AI-powered product recommendations. Conversely, Acelab empowers building material suppliers and manufacturers to unlock specification growth by providing them a strategic Go-to-Market channel to accelerate their product adoption.

As Director of Sales, you will be a top-performing individual contributor owning the full sales cycle for our manufacturer/supplier revenue stream. You'll sell annual software subscriptions to building product manufacturers, requiring proven experience selling construction technology or design software, understanding specification workflows, and closing complex deals with BPM decision-makers.

What you'll do:

  • Own the full sales cycle: Source, qualify, demo, negotiate, and close deals independently from first touch to signed contract
  • Lead generation & prospecting: Generate pipeline through disciplined outbound prospecting (cold call, email, social media) and schedule meetings with BPM decision-makers
  • Business development & relationship management: Build trusted relationships with product managers, marketing executives, and C-suite at building product manufacturers
  • Discovery & problem solving: Understand prospect's specification challenges, market positioning goals, architect engagement strategies, and quantify ROI
  • Consultative selling: Present and demonstrate our platform to BPM prospects, articulating value through specification growth and architect engagement metrics
  • Quota achievement: Consistently meet or exceed quarterly sales quotas through disciplined pipeline management and deal execution

Requirements
  • 3+ years as a quota-carrying Account Executive selling ConTech or PropTech SaaS to AEC firms, manufacturers, or real estate companies
  • Proven track record of consistent quota attainment
  • Deep understanding of AEC industry dynamics: specification processes, architect/engineer workflows, or manufacturer go-to-market challenges
  • Experience independently managing 3-6 month sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
  • Comfortable with high-volume prospecting and full-cycle ownership
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with technical buyers
  • Self-starter who thrives with autonomy and accountability

Benefits
  • Work with some of the brightest minds in AEC, including former CEO of Revit
  • Unlimited PTO, Sick Days, Paid National Holidays, and more
  • Medical, dental, vision, short-term/long-term disability plans, and 401(k)
  • Opportunities for growth, creativity and ownership
  • Flexible and remote work schedules

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
