SUMMARY

We are looking for a Director of Sales Compensation to lead our Global Sales Incentive Compensation function.  This role is a unique opportunity to shape sales incentive strategy across a high-growth, global organization – aligning sales performance with business outcomes, driving revenue growth, and motivating top-tier talent across our go-to-market organization.

As a senior leader of this team, you’ll own the full lifecycle of sales compensation design, implementation, and execution – partnering cross-functionally with senior leadership to ensure our programs scale with the business, attract and retain talent, and drive growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own global sales compensation strategy, design, and execution – ensuring all plans are aligned with business goals, drive results, and reward top performance.
  • Partner with senior executives and business leaders (Sales, Finance, HR, Legal) to understand business needs and design compensation solutions that drive revenue, customer growth, retention, adoption, and margin.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team to operationalize compensation plans, ensure accuracy of payment execution, and support continuous improvement.
  • Build and refine financial models, scenario analyses, and dashboards to analyze plan performance and support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner on quota-setting processes, performance tracking, compensation governance, and plan communication across all global sales functions.
  • Drive the annual sales compensation planning cycle, ensuring smooth rollout of new plans, stakeholder alignment, and clear enablement.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, partnering with internal stakeholders across Legal, Finance and HR to mitigate risk and enforce policies.
  • Establish and mature compensation-related policies, frameworks, and operational processes as we scale globally.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Proven leadership experience in sales compensation strategy, design, implementation and administration – ideally in a fast-paced, global, high-growth environment
  • A demonstrated ability to connect compensation strategy to business objectives – with an eye toward simplicity, motivation, and scalability.
  • Executive presence and stakeholder management skills; you’ve partnered with cross-functional stakeholders across teams and geographies and are comfortable advising and influencing senior leaders.
  • Deep experience with financial modeling, analytics, quota design, and performance management.
  • Strong project management and change management skills; able to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver results under tight timelines.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable guidance for a broad range of audiences.
  • Experience managing and developing teams; a collaborative leader who builds trust and elevates others.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
