  • This position pays between $75,600 - $126,000 based on experience.

The Director of Revenue Recovery provides the strategic vision for identifying, tracking, and resolving or recovering all insurance reimbursement amounts owed to the client. The Director is responsible for implementing the tools, developing the department procedures and workflows, staffing to the needs of the department for peak performance and profitability, and for education and training related to underpayment identification and collection. The Director will also work with all revenue cycle departments to ensure operational workflows are supported and that internal trends contributing to the underpayment of claims are resolved on a go-forward basis. Travel is required with this position.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads system-wide underpayment activities for all acute care facilities: including training, productivity, development of policies and procedures and compliance with all Ensemble Health Partners/client government and regulatory guidelines. Monitors trends in underpayments and works with both payors and other departments to resolve underlying reasons for variances. Monitors ongoing issues to ensure new processes are consistently followed and maintained.
  • Responsible for developing high level management reports for senior leadership related to the volumes and related trends of underpayments. Develops weekly/monthly reporting to identify gaps in operations and works with key parties / departments to resolve the issues.
  • Sets departmental priorities and procedures in accordance with best practices to utilize allocated resources to meet the company wide KPIs related to underpayment identification and recovery. Routinely analyzes resources and procedures to ensure adequate resources for meeting and exceeding those goals.
  • Responsible for promoting a culture of two-way communications and creates opportunities for activities focused on employee engagement, including intentional coaching and mentoring.   • Coordinates directly with or delegates coordination with Managed Care, Denials Leadership, and Payor Leadership to resolve high volume and high dollar underpayment issues.
  • Participates in monthly, quarterly, and annual key indicator goal setting.
  • May be required to perform other job-related duties as requested.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 + years of leadership experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in recovery of insurance reimbursements
  • Effective leadership capabilities to handle daily operational activities, analyze situations, respond appropriately, and coordinate resources to meet organization and department needs    
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and relationship management capabilities
  • Strong reporting capabilities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects efficiently and meet deadlines
