What you'll do: Director - Regional Human Resources Lead in the Enterprise will...
The Regional HR Leader (Business Partner) overseeing North and South America is a senior leader responsible for driving talent strategy and organizational effectiveness for approximately 4,000 employees in 19 offices located in the United States, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Jamaica, and Guatemala. This role serves as a trusted advisor-and constructive challenger-to three Regional Managing Partners in the business and to others senior business leaders, bringing rigor, judgment, and independent perspective to talent decisions that materially impact ZS' performance, client delivery, and leadership credibility.
The Regional HR Leader reports directly to the Chief People Officer and sits on the HR Leadership Team. This role leads and develops a team of HR business partners, HR generalists, staffing professionals and recruiting professionals, and acts as the primary conduit for all HR services provided to the Americas region. This role requires the credibility and judgment to embed best practices, elevate HR capabilities, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders-constructively challenging decisions that may compromise performance standards, talent quality, or long-term firm health-while offering practical, value-creating alternatives.
Success in this role is measured by the ability to build and sustain a high-performance culture, strengthen leadership capability, and deliver business outcomes through people.
Strategic Business Partnership
  • Act as a thought partner to Principals, Associate Principals, and Managers in the Americas, providing clear, data-driven guidance on talent, performance, organizational design, and culture.
  • Translate ZS strategy, growth objectives, and market realities into a clear people and talent agenda that supports sustained competitive advantage through client impact.
  • Confidently challenge and push back on business leaders when requests are misaligned with core people practices, performance standards, or long-term talent strategy

Culture & Performance
  • Drive a high-performance culture by strengthening personal development, performance management, real-time and actionable feedback, and accountability.
  • Partner with consulting leaders to pro-actively identify and resolve any ongoing underperformance, while ensuring that individuals and leaders receive clear, candid feedback to drive improvement and development.
  • Lead and drive a high-performance culture appropriate for a consulting business, including rigorous performance management, promotion, and rewards processes.
  • Reinforce a culture of accountability, feedback, and continuous development while maintaining high expectations for client impact and commercial results.
  • Model ZS values, ensuring they are embedded in leadership behaviors, talent decisions, and employee experiences.

Talent & Organizational Effectiveness
  • Lead workforce planning and forecasting for the Americas to ensure that ZS has the right skills and capabilities for the future. With the business, identify work that can be delivered through AI vs. FTEs. Facilitate skill identification and revise job structures for success in an AI-enabled world.
  • Partner with recruiting leadership to ensure that ZS attracts, assesses, and hires top-tier talent aligned with performance expectations and ZS culture hiring. Ensure both full time and contingent hiring goals are met and that quality of hire remains pristine.
  • Advise on organizational design, leverage models, role clarity and team structures to support growth, profitability, and client delivery excellence. Ensure that talent strategy and workforce models take AI into account.

Risk, Judgment & Governance
  • Apply sound judgment to complex employee relations, performance, and leadership situations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and firm policies while maintaining a pragmatic, performance-oriented approach.
  • Elevate issues appropriately and provide clear recommendations to senior leadership.

Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing HR team, including other HR Leads (aka Business Partners), HR generalists, recruiters, and staffers.
  • Collaborate with other Regional HR Leaders to share and adopt leading practices, and to create a consistent employee experience across the globe.
  • Set a high bar for analytical rigor, business acumen, and impact-moving the team beyond transactional HR to true advisory partnership.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of people decisions across practices, regions, and client-facing roles.

What you'll bring:
  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior-level HR Business Partner leadership roles in consulting, professional services, or similarly performance-driven environments.
  • Proven experience advising and influencing executive-level leaders in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and scaling large, multi-layered HR teams, including direct management of Managers
  • Deep expertise in performance management, talent development, organizational design, and change management.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen; understands consulting economics, leverage models, and client delivery pressures.
  • Must have professional Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS skills.
  • MBA and/or previous consulting experience preferred
  • Fluency in English
  • Client-first mentality
  • Intense work ethic
  • Collaborative spirit and problem-solving approach

Personal Attributes
  • Confident, direct, and thoughtful communicator who can push back with clarity and respect.
  • Highly credible with leaders at all levels; able to earn trust and demonstrate influence quickly.
  • Results-oriented, pragmatic, and comfortable making hard calls.
  • Committed to building a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement. High judgment, low tolerance for mediocrity, and comfort making difficult calls.
  • Direct, intellectually rigorous communicator who can stand firm under pressure.
  • Trusted by senior leaders for discretion, clarity, and courage.
  • Able to energize, motivate, and upskill a diverse team.
  • Relentlessly focused on outcomes, not activity.

Measures of Success
  • A demonstrable, sustained high-performance culture within ZS Americas and an increasingly engaged population
  • Strong credibility with senior consulting leaders, including the ability to productively challenge decisions.
  • Clear improvement in leadership effectiveness, succession readiness, and bench strength.
  • An HRBP and talent team known for rigor, judgment, and business impact-not transactional support.
  • A high-performing, engaged, trusted HR team that operates as strategic partners rather than transactional support.
  • Clear linkage between people initiatives and business strategy.

How you'll grow:

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
