About JustWatch

We are the JustWatch Group. We love movies and TV shows and connect audiences with their favourite content across three divisions: JustWatch The Streaming Guide, JustWatch Media and our own streaming service, JustWatch TV.

JustWatch is the world’s largest global streaming guide, with 50 million monthly active users, helping millions of people discover what to watch and where to watch movies, TV shows and sports across their favourite theatrical exhibitors and streaming services. With JustWatch TV (JWTV), we're building our own ad-supported streaming offering, creating new opportunities for brands to connect with highly engaged streaming audiences. We're looking for ambitious commercial talent to help us build this business.

The Role

We are looking for a Director, Programmatic Advertising Sales (US) to drive advertising revenue for JustWatch TV by winning new advertisers and growing programmatic campaign spend.

Unlike our Agency Partnerships team, which focuses on securing agency-level investment agreements, your focus will be on selling and activating JWTV's advertising inventory through programmatic buying channels. You'll work directly with brands, agency buying teams and DSP partners to turn advertising budgets into live campaigns and recurring revenue.

This is a hands-on sales role for someone with strong programmatic expertise and a proven ability to win business from brands outside the entertainment industry.

What You Will Do

  • Win new advertising business and grow revenue from non-entertainment brands, including automotive, FMCG, retail, finance and technology.

  • Build relationships with advertisers, agency programmatic buying teams, trading desks and DSP partners to drive campaign investment in JWTV.

  • Sell and negotiate programmatic guaranteed, private marketplace and other programmatic advertising deals across JWTV's CTV inventory.

  • Own your sales pipeline and revenue goals, working closely with ad operations and campaigns teams to maximise campaign delivery and repeat spend

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience in programmatic advertising sales, digital video, CTV or ad tech, with a proven record of winning advertiser budgets.

  • Established relationships with agency programmatic buying teams, trading desks, DSPs and brand advertisers.

  • Deep understanding of programmatic guaranteed, private marketplace deals, DSPs, SSPs and CTV advertising.

  • A commercially driven, entrepreneurial salesperson with strong negotiation skills and experience developing revenue from non-entertainment brands.

Why Join JustWatch?

You'll have the opportunity to help build a new arm of our advertising business within an established global streaming technology company. You'll work with an entrepreneurial, international team, take real ownership of commercial growth and help shape how brands advertise on JustWatch TV.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
