As the Director, Operations, you will be primarily responsible for leading Operations Teams delivering daily live news production in our Production Control Rooms and Media Operations Center, supporting NBCU Local News field, editorial and production teams. You will also serve as a key engagement lead to other departments, be the client-facing Operational Representative, ensuring successful delivery of production services to these internal client groups. In this role, you will partner with the Director of Technology to support business needs, while being the liaison connecting Operations and Technology Support Teams. This role reports to the TechOps Regional VP and provides strategic support to the General Manager/President of NBC4 & Telemundo 52.

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the operations teams responsible for delivering overall technical execution and quality of live productions
- Lead staffing and management of studio Directors and Media Operations Center Staff, including hiring, scheduling and performance management in accordance with station policies and collective bargaining agreements.
- Support local General Manager in station's Key Performance Indicators and Partner with GM and TechOps RVP in strategic planning and execution against station KPI's
- Partner with the news VPs of NBC4 and T52 as well as other stakeholders as needed through regular and clear communication
- Collaborate with Local Finance Leads and TechOps RVP in planning of TechOps operating and capital budgets
- Implement TechOps standards and ensure overall operational accountability of standard operating procedures
- Direct Teams in planning and execution of live special event coverage (parades, debates, etc.) and resource allocation analysis
- Direct operational response and stakeholder communication during incident and disaster recovery scenarios impacting production operations
- Participate and contribute to the design, development, and execution of new TechOps workflows, projects and initiatives
- Partner with 3rd party vendors and internal service providers to best service the needs of the operation and business
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, including minimum 5 years of leadership experience, consisting of direct people management and leading teams
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, radio, television & film, related fields or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing direct reports and leading teams including experience coaching manager level direct reports
- Experience leading operational functions of mid to major market news or live event production operations
- Experience with media asset management systems and methodologies
- Experience in an operational role in the live news or sports production business
- Experience in managing 3rd party vendors relationships as well as managing operating and capital budgets
