Candid is seeking a visionary and hands-on Director of Product to lead the strategy, development, and execution of our product across all lines of business. You will work cross-functionally with leaders across sales, marketing, engineering, operations, manufacturing, clinical, and customer support to ensure that our product strategy is cohesive, scalable, and grounded in real-world insights.

As our Director of Product, you will define and drive the overarching product vision and roadmap, aligning it with our long-term business objectives and customer needs. You will act as a player-coach, both leading and contributing directly — setting the strategic direction while also managing and delivering key product initiatives yourself.

Your role is not just to connect the dots, but to shape them — identifying opportunities, driving alignment, and delivering products that move the business forward.

This is a remote role. We will consider candidates based in the United States.

What You’ll Do
  • Strategic Leadership

    • Define and communicate the long-term product vision and roadmap across all product lines, including digital provider portal, mobile app, integration with third-party systems (treatment planning software, live chat, etc.), internal case management tools, and manufacturing systems

    • Align product strategy with overall company goals, market opportunities, and clinical advancements

    • Redefine clearer ownership channels

  • Product Development

    • Lead a team comprised of a Senior Product Manager and a Data Analyst to prioritize and deliver high-impact product initiatives

    • Partner with engineering, clinical, manufacturing, sales, support, marketing, and finance teams to bring new features and improvements to aligner technologies, treatment protocols, and digital features to market

    • Oversee product lifecycle management—from ideation through launch, feedback, and iteration

    • Own product + project management of a subset of actual products/features on the roadmap

    • Help further implement our mission “customer obsession drives profitable growth” by leveraging the voice of customer work including engagement with customers, key opinion leaders, and faculty members to drive decision making

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Act as the central liaison between Product, Marketing, Clinical, Operations, Sales, Support, and Engineering

    • Ensure cross-functional teams are aligned on product goals, requirements, timelines, and KPIs

    • Partner with product marketing to engage regularly with our providers to uncover unmet needs, pain points, and opportunities for innovation

    • Send detailed comms via stakeholders' preferred means of communication

  • Data-Driven Decision Making

    • Use data and analytics to measure product performance, customer satisfaction, and treatment efficacy

    • Drive continuous improvement using customer feedback loops and post-launch reviews

What You’ll Need
  • Proven experience in people and product management (bonus points for healthcare or start-up experience)
  • Expertise in digital product development
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to execute tactically
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear, confident communicator across teams and stakeholders
  • Willing to travel at least twice a quarter

Pay & Perks

  • Competitive compensation
  • Stock option plan to give our employees a direct stake in Candid’s success
  • Unlimited PTO to give our employees a little extra R&R when they need it
  • Work from home stipend
  • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision) and generous parental leave
  • Significant discount on our customized treatment plans and aligners
  • You will grow a lot here. You’ll be surrounded by employees with deep experience in their field, who have a strong passion for doing great work and constantly learning

Our range for this role is $185,000-190,000. Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other perks. To determine our range, we consider as many of the following data points as are available to us: external market salary survey data, experience level, skillset and balancing internal equity relative to our other employees. We include equity in our compensation packages because we believe our employees should have an option to purchase ownership in the company and benefit from what we hope will be a lot of upside growth. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at Candid to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.

Some insight into our culture that leaves an impression:

  • Commit to Growth - To change the face of oral health care, we have to keep growing—as individuals, as teams, and as a company. We approach problems with a beginner’s mindset and continuously pursue improvement.
  • Embrace Candor - To create the environment we want to be a part of, we have to stay aligned—that means elevating each other and our partners through honest, respectful feedback, and fostering a culture of inquiry and debate.
  • Work as One - Together, we have the ability, experience, and intuition to serve our partners and grow our business. When we work as a team, we draw on each other’s strengths, inspire new solutions, and share in our success.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
