As Product Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of the end-to-end delivery of successful member incentives programs that align with the business goals and improve member engagement and retention. This role includes collaborating with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, to set the overall strategy and program goals, developing and managing the day-to-day execution of the program across multiple engagement channels, analyzing and reporting results, and managing the program budget. This role will work with a variety of business partners responsible for delivering components of the program to create a cohesive, integrated and positive member experience.
Success in this role will be based on an individual's ability to: think strategically, while managing multiple priorities, quickly synthesizing new information and prioritizing the team's actions for optimal results; maintain solid partnerships with delivery partners; and continuously refine short-term and longer-term roadmap and build consensus with stakeholders on direction and approach.
This role operates in a highly regulated environment and requires solid judgment, governance leadership, and the ability to balance member experience, compliance, technical feasibility, and financial outcomes.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S., preferably in Minnetonka, MN as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead annual and multi year rewards planning, including segmentation strategy, roadmap development, annual readiness activities, and successful execution of plan year launches and mid year enhancements
  • Serve as the end-to-end product owner for rewards capabilities, from concept and governance approval through development, launch, and ongoing optimization
  • Manage a team of product managers; setting team priorities, coaching and developing talent, and ensuring high standards of product rigor and execution
  • Lead complex, cross-functional alignment discussions where business goals, regulatory requirements, and technical feasibility intersect, clearly articulating tradeoffs to senior leadership
  • Lead the execution of a successful annual program launch as well as interim rollouts, including enhancements to current strategy as well as incorporating new incentives or operational components in collaboration with internal delivery partners across digital, IT, call center, clinical, legal, compliance, and other marketing partners
  • Oversee the development of the annual, multi-channel member engagement strategy and all member communication materials; adjusting messaging to drive optimal outcomes and changing business dynamics throughout the year
  • Evaluate member feedback as well as market and competitive intelligence to aid strategic decision making and development of differentiated positioning
  • Work with analytics partners and key stakeholders to define and analyze success metrics and measurement strategy for the rewards programs, including participation, spend, gap closure, retention, and member satisfaction; use insights to inform program optimization and future-year investment decisions
  • Manage and orchestrate response with delivery partners to any new trends or issues throughout the year in order to maintain and improve the member experience with the program
  • Own financial stewardship for rewards programs, including partnering with Finance on annual forecasting, in year monitoring, variance management, and financial risk mitigation; oversee reporting and decision support for Finance and senior leadership

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in product strategy, experience or program management in B2C environments
  • 5+ years of development of executives facing communications (e.g. presentations, reports, emails, and newsletters)
  • 5+ years of experience interacting effectively with executives and building solid relationships across stakeholders
  • 2+ years of experience managing a program budget or vendor management with spend of $1M+ annually
  • Solid ability to understand, digest, and explain complex data
  • Experience as a manager or supervisor, leading a broader team
  • Experience operating in a regulated environment with demonstrated ability to manage risk, governance processes, or regulatory requirements
  • Experience working successfully within a cross functional/matrix environment and partnering across departments

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Incentives, or loyalty program experience
  • Health care industry product experience, preferably Medicare and/or Medicaid
  • UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare or Optum experience
  • Understanding of and experience with Stars/Quality program
  • Solid analytical skills and experience working with large datasets to inform strategic decision-making
  • Ability to drive change, influence individuals at all levels of the organization, make recommendations, build consensus, and drive outcomes
  • Ability to navigate between strategic and tactical, and lead the team and partners toward common goals
  • Solid project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity, apply problem-solving skills and achieve desired results

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $134,600 to $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
