What we’re looking for:

We are looking for a Director of Product that will lead MarTech strategy for GDM.  This role will oversee all MarTech, AdTech, Platform Operations, Marketing Data, and Tracking for GDM, and report directly to the VP of Marketing Operations and Technology.

MarTech is a critical driver of growth and revenue within the GDM business. The director will lead product strategy and definition of the core technology platforms that our marketing teams rely on to run thousands of campaigns across several channels. In addition, they will also champion and direct the strategy for internal tracking as a data product. The ideal candidate is data-driven, has strong business acumen, and is well-versed in B2C and B2B marketing technology and ad platforms.

Why you’ll want to come to work:

  • MarTech and AdTech Platform Operations: Manage the health and governance of key MarTech and AdTech platforms. Drive the exploration, procurement, implementation, and adoption of new technologies. Support the expansion into new ad platforms and channels.

  • Marketing Data Strategy and Integrations: Lead the development roadmap for key data integrations across multiple platforms. Build solutions that enable marketers to get access to critical data sets.

  • Platform Automation and Internal Tooling: Own the technology roadmap for internal tooling that automates campaign management at scale.

  • Internal Tracking: Lead a cross-functional team responsible for end to end tracking across all web properties and real time activation of our data product.

  • Partner with marketing leads to ensure long term vision and strategy is aligned with GDM’s goals

  • Manage, mentor, and up-level a team of managers and specialists

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with a strong understanding of MarTech, AdTech, Data and Analytics, and Product Management

  • 5+ years of experience managing teams, ideally remote and cross geographical teams

  • Expertise leveraging and optimizing diverse martech stacks (Marketing Automation Platforms, CDPs, etc) and top ad platforms (Google, Microsoft, Meta, etc)

  • Well versed in Performance Marketing and Lifecycle Marketing programs, especially knowledgeable about how measurement, optimization goals (e.g. LTV:CAC, ROAS), and attribution impact campaign results. Enables MarTech solutions to optimize and improve setup.

  • Strong understanding of web data infrastructure (data layers, cookies, javascript tagging, etc), data management (APIs, SQL, data warehousing, etc), and reporting (BI tooling, dashboarding, etc)

  • Experience managing a wide breadth of technical marketers, product managers, and engineers

  • Very high level of organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication skills and storytelling ability that is fact-based, insight-rich, comprehensive, and solution-oriented – ultimately well distilled and tailored to the audience (executive-level, cross-functional, within marketing, etc).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
