Who We Are

Atlan is building the missing context layer for data and AI, helping enterprises close the AI value chasm. Today, 95% of AI pilots fail because AI systems don’t understand the context behind data: what it means, how it’s governed, and how it should be used.

Atlan connects to every part of the modern data and AI stack to unify this context into a single, shared layer that both humans and AI agents can rely on.
With Atlan, teams can discover, understand, and trust their data; build and collaborate on a shared body of knowledge; and activate that context across analytics, operations, and AI workflows.Trusted by global enterprises like Mastercard, Workday, General Motors, Unilever, Ralph Lauren, FOX, Nasdaq, and Medtronic, we’re backed by world-class investors including GIC, Insight Partners, Meritech, Peak XV, and Salesforce Ventures

🎯 The Mission

We are seeking a Director of Product Marketing who is equal parts strategist, storyteller, and leader.

This is a senior, high-impact role at Atlan. You will own product marketing strategy end to end, lead a small but mighty squad of product marketers, and be accountable for the outcomes our GTM efforts drive across the business.

You will shape how the world understands Atlan. From our platform narrative to our biggest launches, you will ensure our story is clear, differentiated, and compelling across every customer and revenue touchpoint. You will report directly to the VP of Product & Corporate Marketing and work closely with leaders across Product, Sales, Growth, and Design.

🔑 What You’ll Do1. Own Product Marketing Strategy and Outcomes

Set the Direction: Own product marketing strategy at Atlan. Decide what matters most, where we invest, and how we sequence messaging, launches, and campaigns to drive real business impact.

Be Outcome-Oriented: You are accountable for results, not just deliverables. That includes pipeline influence, sales effectiveness, product adoption, and category leadership.

Shape the Category: Help define Atlan’s place in the data and AI landscape. Stay ahead of market shifts and competitive dynamics, and evolve our positioning accordingly.

2. Lead a Product Marketing Squad

Build and Lead the Team: Lead, mentor, and develop a small squad of product marketers. Set a high bar for craft, clarity, and impact, and help each person do the best work of their career.

Create Strong Operating Rhythms: Establish how product marketing works at Atlan. From planning and prioritization to launches and retros, you will create systems that scale.

Multiply Impact: Ensure the team produces high-quality narrative assets like messaging frameworks, playbooks, and launch kits that enable teams across the company to move faster and stay aligned.

3. Architect Strategic Platform Narratives

Own the Core Story: Define and evolve Atlan’s core platform narrative, including personas, proof points, and hooks across Tier 1 launches and flagship GTM moments.

Make It Scalable: Build narratives that are durable and reusable, powering everything from sales conversations to website copy to keynote launches.

4. Drive Deep Market Insight and Differentiated Messaging

Know the Market Deeply: Lead continuous customer and market research to understand buyers across technical and executive personas.

Turn Complexity into Clarity: Translate complex data and AI concepts into simple, compelling, and clearly differentiated value for the market.

5. Orchestrate Cross-Functional GTM Execution

Lead Launch Excellence: Guide GTM strategy and execution for major launches, campaigns, and events from early planning through execution.

Partner Creatively: Work closely with Design and Content to push for clarity, creativity, and quality across all customer-facing experiences.

Enable Revenue Teams: Ensure sales and revenue teams are fluent in Atlan’s story through thoughtful, high-impact enablement programs.

💡 What Makes You a Match for Us?

Senior Product Marketing Leader: 10+ years of product marketing experience in B2B SaaS and 12+ years of overall professional experience, with a track record of owning strategy and driving measurable GTM outcomes.

People Leader: Experience leading and developing product marketers and building trusted, high-performing teams.

Strategic and Commercial Thinker: You connect positioning, launches, and narratives directly to revenue impact and customer adoption.

Fast Learner with Creative Edge: You can quickly master complex domains like data and AI and turn them into standout positioning and storytelling.

Compelling Communicator: You influence senior leaders and inspire teams with clarity, confidence, and strong narrative instincts.

Ecosystem Experience (Bonus): Experience in data, analytics, or AI ecosystems is a strong plus.

More About Us

Atlan is building the shared context layer that enterprises need so AI can operate on trusted, governed context. The conversation has moved from data leaders asking: “Can we trust the data in our stack?” to businesses asking: “Can we trust AI inside the business?”

Recognized as an industry-leading metadata, catalog, and data governance platform, we’ve been named a Leader by both Gartner and Forrester across enterprise data catalogs, metadata management, and governance.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
