We're looking for a Director of Product Marketing to elevate our platform's positioning and define how Skimmer is perceived and experienced in the market. This role goes far beyond feature launches—it's about crafting our story, shaping market perception, and driving our go-to-market strategy with clarity and conviction.
You're a dynamic, strategic thinker and builder who thrives at the intersection of product, sales, and marketing. You’re passionate about deeply understanding customer needs and competitive dynamics and translating that insight into clear positioning, actionable strategy, and compelling go-to-market plans. You're comfortable rolling up your sleeves, leading cross-functional initiatives, and knowing a product and its market inside and out. You love uncovering market opportunities and bringing clarity to complexity while educating your team and the team at large about messaging, positioning, and market opportunities.
What you'll do:
1. Market and Competitive Intelligence
Own deep market research and competitive analysis — with a focus on the pool service industry, and a lens on the full pool and spa ecosystem.
Develop and maintain actionable market segmentation, buyer personas, and customer journey insights rooted in value creation.
Be the internal voice of the customer — connecting Skimmer’s strategy to emerging industry trends and business dynamics.
2. Drive Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy
Lead positioning, messaging, pricing, and packaging strategies for Skimmer’s platform and new solutions that are added
Partner with marketing, sales, customer success, and product teams to align GTM execution and launch playbooks.
Ensure our narrative is consistent, compelling, and clearly articulates Skimmer’s differentiated value across channels.
3. New Product Launches and Commercialization
Own end-to-end GTM for new product introductions, from pre-launch planning to post-launch optimization.
Collaborate closely with product management to deeply understand the product and translate it into scalable, customer-ready messaging and materials.
Develop collateral, sales enablement tools, internal training, and launch communications that deliver real business results.
4. Product Expansion and TAM Growth
Work with executive leadership to evaluate market expansion opportunities and guide strategic decisions on new product suites or verticals.
Identify untapped segments, jobs-to-be-done, and whitespace opportunities based on customer insights and market signals.
Bring clarity and data-driven thinking to Skimmer’s expansion strategy.
You will also have a kick-ass time! 🏊
Your Experience:
Deep and progressive experience in product marketing within SaaS
A proven track record of leading positioning, pricing, packaging and overall GTM strategy
Ability to lead cross-functional product launches across all functions of the business
Strong customer empathy with a history of engaging with users and industry influencers
Excellent communication skills and storytelling abilities — you can "paint a picture" that resonates across executives, frontline teams, and customers.
Experience managing and mentoring teams; you know how to lead with clarity and inspire with vision.
