Director of Product Marketing and Lifecycle Marketing

As Director of Product Marketing and Lifecycle Marketing, you will own the overall messaging & positioning of Kajabi, our go-to-market strategy & execution, and the lifecycle marketing strategy for Kajabi. Your work will be critical to establishing us as the trusted partner for creators worldwide, and will require you to partner closely with the broader Marketing team and the Product team.

The Impact you will make
  • Ultimately, the job is to grow and lead a high-performing product marketing & lifecycle marketing team, focusing largely on (1) shaping our product lineup & messaging to appeal to creators who aspire to build successful businesses, (2) bringing new products to market (including potentially to new customer segments), and (3) building enduring relationships with prospects and customers, including helping our customers get the most value possible from our products. Simply put, you and your team will help us understand our customers and tell our story to them, reaching them in an authentic and compelling way.
  • Own the strategy for bringing our ambitious product roadmap to market, both to attract new customers and to deepen relationships with existing customers. Simplify the language we use to speak with our customers with a focus on driving comprehension of our value proposition as quickly, and clearly as possible. Serve as a key stakeholder in the launch of new offerings and new verticals, involved from ideation & exploration to initial launch and then ongoing growth & expansion.
  • Own the development & execution of our customer lifecycle marketing strategy and roadmap. Create segmented lead nurturing strategies to nurture and convert prospects. Build and optimize customer lifecycle programs that leverage email, in-product messaging, and sales to accelerate customer time to value, deepen product usage and adoption, and increase lifetime value.
  • Help us tell our story and ultimately define our category: What is Kajabi? Why should you trust us? What can we do for you that no one else can do for you? Tactically, this will look like messaging and positioning work, competitive intelligence, mapping the buyer’s journey, and helping refine personas—and working with the broader marketing team to guide the creation of foundational marketing experiences: e.g., demos, website content, demand gen assets, videos, webinar content, etc.
  • Develop, maintain and optimize a comprehensive, value-focused monetization strategy that includes pricing and packaging, feature gating, expansion and promotions.
  • Represent the voice of the customer. Work closely with our customer experience team to develop sales collateral, case studies, presentations, customer success stories, and other tools that improve our win rate, and enhance the productivity of our marketing and product work.
  • Of course, the team is the heart of all that we do. You will grow, develop, & inspire a team of talented product marketers and lifecycle marketers, and foster a cohesive, high-performing team. You will also work closely and collaboratively with our product, design, engineering and of course, with other members of the marketing team.
Attributes for Success
  • Strategic thinker with a bias for action: You think big picture & long term, but also bring a focus on execution and short-term wins. You are a creative problem solver in the face of blockers or the absence of complete data.
  • Critical thinker:  You combine customer data and analytics, along with customer insights and market research to identify areas of opportunity and develop hypotheses-driven tests
  • Process-oriented: You set clear goals and know how to get a team to iterate towards success

  • Exceptional coach. You are committed to growing and developing your team members.
  • Unstoppable: You want to win, you want those around you to win, and you’re in it for the love of the game. Marketing and success is more than a KPI, it’s an all consuming obsession with driving growth.
  • Passion: You are passionate about Kajabi’s mission and our customers
Who you are

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
