We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Product Management positioned as a Subgroup Product Lead to lead a portfolio of product pods focused on margin platform reimagination and compliance-as-a-service capabilities for RIAs, IBDs, and trust clients. The Director, Product Management will drive large-scale transformation in margin lending and rebuild core platform capabilities to meet evolving client and regulatory needs, while enabling scalable compliance solutions delivered as products. To achieve this, the Director, Product Management will lead multiple product pods and operate at the intersection of product execution, platform strategy, and people leadership. This role is located in New York, NY or Jersey City, NJ.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead and oversee 5–10 product pods, driving aligned execution across margin and compliance initiatives 
  • Own the end-to-end execution of the margin platform reimagination, including solution design and delivery sequencing 
  • Define and drive delivery of compliance-as-a-service capabilities, including areas such as AML, post-trade monitoring, and regulatory workflows (e.g., Reg 9)
  • Translate regulatory and client commitments into clear, executable product plans with disciplined delivery timelines 
  • Establish strong execution rigor, ensuring teams deliver against milestones mandated by regulators and clients 
  • Act as a servant leader, coaching and developing product managers to maximize team performance and impact 
  • Lead by example through hands-on engagement in product design, prioritization, and delivery orchestration 
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, design, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive platform delivery 
  • In the first 90 Days, deliver a solution design for the reimagined margin platform and align teams to execution plans for initial delivery sequencing 
  • In the first 12 Months, drive teams to launch multiple net-new platform features and deliver against regulatory and client-driven timelines  

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:  

  • 10+ years of related experience required; including experience in the securities or financial services industries
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred
  • Proven experience leading platform/API-driven product organizations end-to-end 
  • Strong domain expertise in margin / securities-based lending 
  • Experience managing multiple product teams or pods in a complex environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive large-scale platform transformation initiatives 
  • Track record of disciplined execution in environments with regulatory or client-driven deadlines 
  • Experience building or delivering compliance-related capabilities (e.g., AML, monitoring, regulatory workflows) 
  • Ability to balance hands-on product leadership with team coaching and development
  • Exposure to RIA, IBD, or trust/custody ecosystems 
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., SEC, FINRA)
  • Operate with a servant leadership mindset, enabling teams to perform at their highest level 
  • Lead through example, accountability, and clarity of execution 
  • Drives a culture of ownership, discipline, and delivery excellence

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $130,000 and $281,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short- and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
