JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT FOX SPORTS DIGITAL

FOX Sports is home to innovation in live sports, storytelling, and fan engagement. We’re building digital products that connect millions of fans to the moments, communities, and experiences they love — across the NFL, MLB, FIFA World Cup, NCAA Football, and more.

Our product team thrives at the intersection of creativity, data, and craft. We are reshaping how fans connect with live sports, how data and AI personalize experiences, and how we deliver value to our business and partners.

This is your chance to lead a team shaping the digital future of sports while advancing as a world-class product leader.

ABOUT THE ROLE

FOX Sports Digital is seeking a Director, Product Management to join our product leadership team. This role oversees a portfolio of fan-facing digital products and leads a team of product managers to deliver experiences that drive engagement, unlock business growth, and raise the standard of product craft at FOX Sports.

This isn’t a role for a “roadmap administrator.” It’s for a builder, coach, and leader who can set vision, drive execution, and elevate product practice across the organization. You’ll ensure every initiative is rooted in jobs-to-be-done, measurable outcomes, and fan-first thinking — not just features.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Own the product vision and strategy for a portfolio of products (e.g., Alerts, Live Updates, AI-driven personalization, event experiences).

  • Translate FOX Sports’ business goals and fan needs into clear, outcome-based product roadmaps.

  • Apply Jobs-To-Be-Done rigor to ensure features solve real fan problems and deliver measurable business impact.

Execution & Delivery

  • Drive disciplined backlog management, user story definition, and go-to-market planning.

  • Ensure every initiative has clear acceptance criteria, leading/lagging metrics, and de-risking strategies.

  • Partner with engineering, design, and editorial to define MVPs, test and learn quickly, and ship with quality.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers, instilling a culture of craft, clarity, and accountability.

  • Coach PMs to own outcomes, not just outputs — from writing strong user stories to framing opportunities with data.

  • Build a team that thrives on feedback, iteration, and fan-first problem solving.

Stakeholder & Executive Alignment

  • Partner with FOX Sports executives and cross-functional leaders to align product strategy with organizational priorities.

  • Communicate strategic value, risks, and competitive positioning with clarity and confidence.

  • Champion organizational alignment to ensure every product launch is positioned for success.

ABOUT YOU

  • A proven product leader with experience managing teams and portfolios in consumer-facing digital products (sports, media, or entertainment a plus).

  • Expert in product craft: backlog discipline, JTBD framing, analytics-driven decision making, and outcome-driven roadmapping.

  • A communicator who can earn executive trust and inspire cross-functional partners.

  • A passionate sports fan who understands that games are more than scores — they’re experiences, communities, and identities.

  • A leader who raises the bar for product management practice, coaching others and driving organizational excellence.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 10–12+ years of product management experience, including leadership of people and portfolios.

  • Track record of defining product strategy and delivering large-scale, consumer-facing digital products.

  • Strong technical fluency and ability to partner closely with engineering and analytics.

  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-visibility environments where priorities evolve quickly.

  • MBA or advanced technical degree a plus, but not required.

WHY JOIN US

  • Lead products tied to the biggest sports moments in the world.

  • Shape the culture and practice of product management at FOX Sports.

  • Work at the intersection of live sports, fan communities, and emerging technology.

  • Be part of a team that blends the energy of sports with the rigor of great product craft.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
