Dandy is transforming the massive and antiquated dental industry—an industry worth over $200B. Backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital firms, we’re on an ambitious mission to simplify and modernize every function of the dental practice through technology. As we expand our reach globally, Dandy is building the operating system for dental offices around the world—empowering clinicians and their teams with technology, innovation, and world-class support to achieve more for their practices, their people, and their patients.

Dandy is hiring a Director of Product Manager, Design Systems to lead the strategy and development of our design systems—critical tools used by our dental designers to create restorative products for Dandy’s customers. This is a Director level role, ideal for a product leader who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and wants to shape the future of how dentistry is designed and delivered digitally.

You will own a foundational piece of our technology platform, working at the intersection of CAD, ML, and human expertise. This isn’t just about iterating on the status quo—it’s about building the systems that will define what digital dental design looks like in the years to come.

What You'll Do

Product development at Dandy is a collaborative, high-impact function. You’ll serve as the connective tissue between design, engineering, operations, and business leadership to drive both strategy and execution.

  • Define and execute the product vision for our design systems, setting a long-term direction aligned with company priorities and customer needs.

  • Partner with CAD, ML, and full-stack engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-performance tools that enable accurate, fast, and intuitive dental design.

  • Build business cases for new initiatives including market sizing, revenue forecasts, and resource requirements

  • Deeply understand user workflows—especially those of internal designers—and translate complex needs into clear, actionable product requirements.

  • Conduct customer discovery, market research, and competitive analysis to inform roadmap decisions and identify opportunities to innovate.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment and decision-making across stakeholders, ensuring transparency, clarity, and momentum on key initiatives.

  • Manage the full product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and iteration, in a highly agile and collaborative environment.

  • Use data and qualitative insights to measure impact, communicate results, and continuously refine the product direction.

  • Interface with third-party vendors and partners as needed to evaluate and integrate complementary technologies.

  • Champion a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for creative and curious product thinkers who can develop and grow a compelling vision for Dandy's products. We seek an experienced Director of Product Management accustomed to working in a hyper-growth, customer obsessed organization.

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, managing software products through the full lifecycle from MVP to general release and subsequent iterations.

  • 5+ years in leadership roles driving complex product strategies across multiple teams

  • Experience building 3D and /or CAD design systems. Bonus points if its 0-1.

  • High bias-to-action. You regularly knock down barriers and get things done, quickly.

  • Ability to drive alignment across many cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Technical competence and comfort-level. You can discuss APIs and services with the engineering team (but you don’t need to be able to code).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Proven ability to think strategically, develop product roadmaps, and execute against them to deliver impactful results.

  • Experience at an operationally-intensive company.

  • Previous experience in the dental or medical industries.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
