Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Director Product Management - BFLY Embedded, our Ultrasound-on-Chip™ semiconductor platform. This is a highly technical product management role where you will drive the creation of products that are technically excellent, aesthetically appealing, and easy to use. This role is accountable for defining and delivering innovative solutions that delight customers, scale commercially, and leverage Butterfly’s differentiated core technologies—including ASICs, MEMS, firmware, software, and AI. This will report to both the SVP Innovation- BFLY Embedded and the VP of Product. 

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ownership across the full product lifecycle—from early concept and requirements definition through engineering development, regulatory validation, launch, and post-market optimization—using customer insights, data, and market signals to inform prioritization.
  • Strong background in hardware product development with deep appreciation for industrial design principles, delivering products that are technically robust, aesthetically refined, and exceptionally intuitive to use.
  • Demonstrated analytical rigor and systems-level thinking, with the ability to translate complex technical constraints (chip architecture, embedded systems, hardware-software integration) into clear product strategy and execution plans.
  • Proven executive presence and experience presenting product strategy, roadmap tradeoffs, and investment cases to senior leadership and board-level audiences.
  • Experience within a consumer technology, medical device, or other regulated hardware environment, with an understanding of how usability, performance, cost, and compliance intersect in product decision-making.
  • Track record of building 0–1 hardware products or leading major platform/ecosystem expansions, including defining architecture, aligning cross-functional teams, and driving commercialization.
  • Experience managing and influencing strategic external partners (e.g., silicon vendors, contract manufacturers, design firms, technology collaborators), including roadmap alignment, delivery accountability, and long-term value creation.
  • Ability to operate effectively in dynamic environments, balancing near-term execution with long-term embedded platform strategy and technological innovation.
Location

At Butterfly we offer a hybrid work environment. For most employees, this means part time in the office (two or more days a week). This is a hybrid position and will be based out of our office in the Bay Area.

Compensation 

Our estimated salary for this role based in the SF Bay Area is around $250,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience and market demand.

For this role, we are only considering candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States and who do not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status.
