The Role:

DailyPay is seeking a visionary, data-obsessed, and deeply empathetic VP of UX and Product Design to lead our user experience and design functions. This is a highly strategic role for a leader who is passionate about creating tangible value and delightful experiences for everyday workers. You will be responsible for setting the design vision and strategy across our entire ecosystem of products—including our core employee app, the DailyPay VISA® Prepaid Card, and our partner-facing portals—ensuring every interaction is seamless, intuitive, and empowering.

As the chief advocate for our users, you will build and mentor a world-class team of UX designers, researchers, and writers. You will leverage deep quantitative and qualitative data to champion a user-centric culture, partnering with executive leadership to ensure that a profound understanding of user needs is the engine that drives our product strategy and business growth. What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Set the Vision & Strategy: Define and champion a compelling, long-term UX vision and strategy that is deeply rooted in user data and focused on creating seamless and delightful experiences across the DailyPay ecosystem.

  • Lead and Scale a High-Performing Team: Recruit, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of UX designers, UX researchers, and content strategists. Foster a data-informed culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Drive User-Centered Execution: Oversee the end-to-end design process, from data-driven discovery and user research to high-fidelity prototyping and rigorous testing. Ensure the team delivers elegant, accessible, and effective design solutions that create measurable value.

  • Champion Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as a key member of the product leadership team, collaborating closely with VPs of Product, Engineering, and Marketing to align on strategy, define roadmaps, and deliver impactful business outcomes.

  • Be the Voice of the User: Build and scale a robust UX research practice that blends quantitative and qualitative methods to deeply understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of our diverse user base. Translate these insights into actionable strategies that create a seamless and valuable user journey.

  • Establish Operational Excellence: Implement and refine design systems, tools, and data-informed processes that enable the team to scale effectively while maintaining a high bar for quality, consistency, and impact.

  • Influence and Evangelize: Act as a powerful storyteller and evangelist for user-centered design, using data to clearly articulate how a focus on a seamless and delightful user experience directly drives user satisfaction, business growth, and our core mission.

What you bring to the Team
  • An Experienced Design Leader: You have 12+ years of experience in product design/UX, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director, VP, or Head of Design) managing and scaling teams in a high-growth, product-led company.

  • A Strategic, Systems-Thinker: You have a proven ability to develop and execute a long-term design strategy for a complex product ecosystem, focusing on creating a seamless and holistic user journey.

  • Empathetic and Value-Focused: You have a deep, genuine empathy for users from all walks of life and a passion for understanding their core needs to create products that deliver real, tangible value and improve financial wellness. Experience designing for B2C fintech or for diverse and vulnerable populations is a significant plus.

  • A Master of Your Craft: You possess a strong portfolio of work that demonstrates your expertise in creating delightful, intuitive, and impactful products. Your portfolio clearly shows your strategic contribution to business success through data-driven design.

  • An Inspiring Team Builder: You have a track record of hiring, mentoring, and retaining top-tier design and research talent. You know how to create an inclusive environment where individuals can do their best work.

  • A Data-Obsessed Decision Maker: You are fluent in blending qualitative and quantitative data to form a cohesive and deep understanding of the user. You use insights from analytics, A/B testing, and user research to guide design decisions, measure impact, and drive strategy.

  • An Exceptional Communicator: You can articulate complex design concepts and strategic rationale to a variety of audiences, from your design team to the C-suite, using data and user stories to build conviction and alignment.

  • Established UX Vision and Roadmap: You have defined and socialized a compelling UX vision and a data-informed roadmap that is aligned with business objectives and enthusiastically supported by product and engineering counterparts.

  • Influential Leadership with Product & Engineering: You are seen as an indispensable strategic partner by Product and Engineering leaders, actively influencing the product roadmap and technical priorities to ensure user-centricity is at the forefront of all initiatives.

  • Leveled-Up Design Team: You have assessed the team's capabilities, identified skill gaps, and made key hires in UX design and research, fostering a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team.

  • Robust Design System in Place: You have initiated and are overseeing the adoption of a comprehensive design system that is demonstrably improving consistency, quality, and velocity across all product lines.

  • Measurable UX Improvements: You have identified key user pain points through research and shipped several high-impact design improvements that have demonstrably improved user satisfaction, engagement, and task success rates, as measured by key metrics (e.g., CSAT, NPS, conversion rates).

  • Strengthened Cross-Functional Collaboration: You have built strong, collaborative relationships with product, engineering, and marketing leaders, resulting in a more integrated and user-centric product development lifecycle.

  • Deepened User Understanding: You have scaled the UX research practice, delivering a steady stream of actionable insights that have directly influenced product strategy and created a deeper, shared understanding of our users across the entire organization.
