This role is core to the TechCrunch leadership team and will partner closely with functional leadership peers to work on a wide range of high impact and high visibility growth initiatives. The role reports to the General Manager and will identify and execute opportunities to grow the TechCrunch content media and event business through data and insights working with cross functional stakeholders. Using a deep understanding of business drivers, latest industry trends and competitive landscape, they will lead TechCrunch’s audience development and product functions. They will drive core activities such as strategic planning, product roadmap development, revenue optimization, new business/investment case formulation and operational enhancement.

Your Day at TechCrunch

  • Identify, prioritize and implement product and revenue growth initiatives, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders spanning Editorial, Marketing, Sales, and BD/ Partnerships

  • Drive product initiatives through strategy, planning, testing, launching, and scaling stages

  • Provide strategic and analytic leadership, and be a trusted thought partner for the General Manager

  • Partner with Analytics, Data Science, Research and Finance (FP&A) teams to translate data into actionable insights 

  • Develop and implement best-in-class operational processes that track progress and accountability toward carefully selected KPI targets

  • Clearly communicate high-level strategy as well as tactical progress/status to senior leadership and to the TechCrunch team

About You

  • 7+ years of professional experience in an analytical role in product management, general management or related field

  • Experience in media, digital consumer products, digital publishing

  • Track record driving business growth and product strategy in media ad or subscription business models

  • Ability to conceptualize business issues and drivers, formulate hypotheses, through quantitative and analytical skills

  • Ability to execute and follow through with appropriate tracking, stakeholder management, and process design

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including communicating technical material to non-technical audiences 

  • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, evaluate tradeoffs and prioritize

  • Experience working with a geographically distributed team, including far-shore engineering teams

  • Experience leading Product, Design and Engineering teams, both locally and globally

  • Experience working with digital advertising and/or event sponsorship sales teams

  • Masters in Business Administration is preferred but not required

The compensation for this position ranges from $140,890.00 - $306,705.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
