About the role

Hungryroot is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead the development and execution of a centralized procurement function. This role will drive margin discipline, vendor governance, and scalable purchasing processes across the organization. The Director of Procurement will partner closely with Marketing, Technology and FP&A and business leaders to ensure spend scales responsibly and resources are allocated to the highest ROI opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead Hungryroot’s procurement strategy, operating model, and policies
  • Own enterprise-wide vendor spend visibility, sourcing, and negotiation efforts
  • Drive pricing normalization, vendor consolidation, and contract discipline across key categories
  • Establish standardized procurement workflows, approval paths, and governance
  • Partner with FP&A to integrate procurement savings into budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Collaborate with Legal and Security teams to ensure appropriate contract terms and risk mitigation
  •  Develop supplier performance metrics and ongoing vendor management processes
  • Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives with measurable financial impact
  • Support long-term scalability by building procurement infrastructure and tools

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply/vendor management
  • Proven track record of delivering cost savings and operational improvements at scale
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience partnering with Finance/FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis
  • Ability to build processes and teams in a high-growth environment
  • Strong analytical skills with comfort working across spend data and vendor economics
  • Experience in consumer, e-commerce, food, or high-growth operating environments is preferred
  • Prior leadership experience building a procurement function from the ground up is a plus

Expected Pay Range
$168,000-$210,000 
Bonus Eligible
