The Director, PMO Business Value Optimization role is a hands-on leadership position that requires a strong focus on driving business value optimization in the Project Management Office (PMO) within the Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, IT and business partnership, and benefits realization approaches, and will be responsible for providing direct support to project managers (PMs) and project teams to ensure that they have the training, process aids, and expertise needed to deliver projects that meet business objectives.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

The Director, PMO Business Value Optimization role is a hands-on leadership position that requires a strong focus on driving business value optimization in the Project Management Office (PMO) within the Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, IT and business partnership, and benefits realization approaches, and will be responsible for providing direct support to project managers (PMs) and project teams to ensure that they have the training, process aids, and expertise needed to deliver projects that meet business objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive continuous improvement, culture change, and adoption of new ways of working through development of processes and standards and delivery of training programs within the PMO and across ESS.
- Identify and cascade PMO best practices, coach and develop talent.
- Develop templates, workflows and deliverables to accelerate project management effectiveness and ensure ongoing consistency.
- Collaborate with peers across BAE Systems to ensure adoption of enterprise PM capability standards within ESS-IT.
- Uphold BAE Systems and Enterprise Shared Services established project governance structures, including obtaining and maintaining certification as an LCM (Life-Cycle Management) trainer for the ESS organization.
- Enhance accountability and transparency between business and IT through development of practices to guide projects teams in driving successful transformation through IT deployment and creations of benefits realization plans.
- Drive a more holistic approach to value realization by focusing on value-focused stories and business outcomes.
- Establish PMO standards around project planning, basis of estimate creation, risk management, financial and earned value management. Coach, manage, and ensure risk and compliance requirements are met.
- Oversee a team of Project Planners in providing holistic project scheduling support to large, complex IT initiatives. Must have ability to coach staff in creation and manipulation of complex Integrated Master Plans to determine critical and driving paths to major milestone events and to apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
- Supervise PMO Change Managers and monitor and evaluate the progress and effectiveness of the ESS portfolio of transformative activities.
- Establish or disseminate program quality standards and monitor the quality of team deliverables.

- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 15 years work experience in a related field.
- PMP Certification.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project management and project planning, including experience with project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with transformation management principles, methodologies, and tools, including the ability to coach and provide process support to project teams.
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing and delivering training programs to adult learners.
- Project finance and Earned Value Management experience.
- Executive level communication and presentation skills.
