From games to aerospace, medical to manufacturing and beyond, Unity's innovative and proven technology is the go-to solution for millions of creators around the world.

Companies across multiple industries are embracing real-time 3D technology to unlock the true value of their data with use cases like product configuration, simulation, operations, and human-machine interface (HMI). We are looking for a senior leader to lead product marketing for the Industry team. We’re seeking a Director of Product Marketing to lead the Industry PMM team. This role will shape Unity’s product positioning and go-to-market strategy across verticals, organized by customer personas - from highly technical developers to visionary designers to business decision-makers. You’ll work cross-functionally to connect product capabilities to industry outcomes, helping Unity cement its leadership in the industry RT3D space.

What you'll be doing

  • Persona and Industry Segmentation - Lead a PMM team organized by industry and customer persona (e.g., Industrial Developer, Designer, Business Lead). Use qualitative and quantitative data to surface use cases and work closely with Product to influence the product roadmap.
  • Positioning/Messaging - Develop clear, differentiated messaging that reflects the unique needs of each vertical and role. Regularly refresh frameworks based on customer feedback, market trends, and competitor movements.
  • End-to-End GTM Strategy - Lead launch and GTM plans across Industry verticals. Build cross-functional GTM charters with product, sales, marketing, and professional services to ensure successful execution. Deliver retros with adoption and revenue insights.
  • Voice of Customer and Market Insights - Represent the customer by turning feedback, sales insights, and market dynamics into product direction and content. Lead customer panels, field interviews, and community feedback loops.
  • Sales Enablement and Lifecycle Content - Create and maintain sales tools (pitch decks, ROI calculators, battle cards) and lifecycle marketing content (demos, webinars, customer stories) that map to each buyer journey and reduce time to value.
  • Thought Leadership and Evangelism - Represent Unity Industry at conferences, analyst briefings, and press engagements. Shape our external narrative as the go-to RT3D partner for industrial innovation.

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated success leading product marketing or GTM efforts in enterprise software.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution skills - you translate vision into roadmap, messaging, and programs.
  • A deep understanding of how to connect technical value to business outcomes across complex B2B sales cycles.
  • Excellent leadership capabilities: experience hiring, growing, and managing teams in fast-moving environments.
  • Strong communication skills - able to engage executives, technical developers, and business stakeholders alike.
  • Travel readiness for customer meetings, industry events, and cross-functional alignment (domestic and international).
  • Ability to work cross functionally in a matrixed organization.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
