Job Description:

We are looking for a visionary Platforms Director to lead our Global Enterprise Shared Platforms team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, reliability, and continuous improvement of our platforms, ensuring we deliver exceptional service and drive technological innovation.

The Platforms Director will manage cross-functional teams of Technical Architects, Engineers, and other technical professionals. You will be accountable for managing the infrastructure budget, leading R&D initiatives, and fostering a culture of innovation within the team.

Scope of Platforms

  • Enterprise CI/CD: Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines.

  • Observability Platform: Based on the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for comprehensive monitoring and logging.

  • Data Streaming Platform: Leveraging Kafka for real-time data ingestion and processing.

  • Enterprise Cross-Cloud Kubernetes Capability: Utilizing GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) to manage containerized applications across multiple cloud providers and environments.

  • Enterprise In-Memory Databases: Based on Redis for high-speed data caching and session management.

  • Enterprise Generative AI Platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Leadership: Oversee the full lifecycle of enterprise shared platforms, including development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Reliability & Performance: Ensure the reliability, availability, and optimal performance of all platforms through robust monitoring and management.

  • Team Management: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and manage the infrastructure budget, driving strategic R&D efforts to innovate and improve platform capabilities.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and deliver innovative solutions.

  • Operational Excellence: Implement and enforce best practices for platform management, operations, and continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in platform management or a related role, with a strong track record of overseeing enterprise platforms.

  • Technical Expertise: A deep understanding of solutions architecture, design patterns and Cloud Technologies, including specific experience with CI/CD, ELK stack, Kafka, GKE, and Redis.

  • Leadership & Management: Extensive experience in project, program, budget, and people management. Exceptional leadership, team management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential.

  • Agility: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing requirements.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a platform management or a similar technical leadership role.

  • Technical Expertise: Proven hands-on experience and a strong understanding of the following technologies:

    • CI/CD: Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines.

    • Observability: The ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).

    • Data Streaming: Kafka.

    • Container Orchestration: Kubernetes, with specific experience in GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) and cross-cloud capabilities.

    • In-Memory Databases: Redis.

  • Leadership and Management: Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring cross-functional teams of architects and engineers.

  • Strategic Acumen: Strong understanding of infrastructure budgeting, R&D initiatives, and the ability to drive strategic technical decisions.

Annual Pay Range:

155,600 - 200,000 USD
