Description

Skylight’s mission is to build the OS of the family. We make consumer products, like Skylight Frame and Skylight Calendar, that are loved by millions of people across the globe. Through a singular focus on care for our customers, Skylight has scaled from a school project to over $190M in annual revenue while being completely bootstrapped. We have a huge opportunity to make family life easier and more connected, and that’s why we have been working hard to expand our team.

We’re seeking a (Senior) Director of International to lead our international growth and performance marketing efforts, helping us scale and connect with new customers globally. This is a strategic-operator role where you will be responsible for driving Skylight’s international expansion and performance across all channels. You will have the autonomy to craft and execute growth strategies, while working closely with external partners and cross-functional teams to execute plans that scale our brand worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • International Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a performance-driven international marketing strategy that drives revenue growth across new and existing markets. Own the P&L per market on our core sales channels, DTC and Amazon. Lead the charge in identifying high-potential regions and growth opportunities, and tailor campaigns accordingly.
  • Data-driven Marketing: Own performance marketing across channels (Google Ads, Meta, Affiliate Marketing, etc.); optimize testing and evergreen budgets to drive profitable customer acquisition and revenue.
  • Pricing and Promotion: Work with the Sales team to develop and execute pricing and promotional plans across DTC and Amazon.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams – Product, Operations, and Customer Service – to ensure smooth execution of international initiatives and alignment across the business.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience leading international growth and performance, ideally for high growth DTC and Amazon consumer businesses.
  • Experience with international markets and the ability to tailor strategies to different cultural and regional dynamics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to dig deep into data, derive insights, and act on them to optimize marketing performance.
  • A self-starter with a passion for growth and innovation. You thrive in environments where you can make an impact and take ownership of projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work cross-functionally and present complex strategies and results to leadership in a clear and concise manner.
Benefits

Our competitive compensation package includes:

  • Competitive Salary + Equity Package
  • 401K matching
  • Wellness, learning, and home-office budgets
  • Health, Dental & Vision Medical Plans
  • Tremendous autonomy to set the direction of your work
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Company holidays on the first Friday of every month (February - October)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
