Our world-class technology empowers restaurants to focus on what matters most – their team, their guests, and their bottom line – while enabling diners to discover and book the perfect restaurant for every occasion.

Every employee at OpenTable has a tangible impact on what we do and how we do it. You’ll also be part of a global team and its portfolio of metasearch brands. Hospitality is all about taking care of others, and it defines our culture.

You will lead a team responsible for service delivery, systems administration, and rewards execution—and serve as a trusted partner to Legal, Finance, Payroll, and IT, as well as the OpenTable executive team.

This is a hybrid role with the expectation to work from our Norwalk, CT office 2 days per week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and evolve a scalable shared services operational model that centralizes HR operations processes while ensuring global consistency, compliance, and a high quality employee experience

  • Lead HR Systems strategy across the employee lifecycle (e.g., onboarding, job changes, offboarding) to drive efficiency and compliance

  • Oversee the execution of mid-year and year-end compensation cycles and compensation forecasting/budgeting in close partnership with Finance and senior leadership

  • Craft and fine tune global benefits programs that align with business goals and drive employee retention

About You:

  • 8–10+ years of progressive HR experience with a focus in HR operations, compensation, & systems in a global, high-growth environment

  • Proven experience leading and developing HR Operations or Total Rewards teams

  • Deep expertise in Workday, including Core HCM and Advanced Compensation modules

  • Strong knowledge of global employment compliance, HR governance, and policy development

  • Exceptional problem-solving and systems-thinking skills; able to navigate complexity and bring structure to ambiguity

  • Adept at analyzing and interpreting data to inform strategic decisions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to executives

  • High attention to detail, with a process improvement mindset and ability to execute with consistency

  • Bachelor's degree required; HR or business-related certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-SCP, CCP) are a plus

Benefits and Perks:

  • Work from (almost) anywhere for up to 20 days per year

  • Focus on mental health and well-being:

    • Company-paid therapy sessions through SpringHealth

    • Company-paid subscription to Headspace

    • Annual company-wide week off a year - the whole team fully recharges (and returns without a pile-up of work!)

  • Paid parental leave

  • Generous paid vacation + time off for your birthday

  • Paid volunteer time

  • Focus on your career growth:

    • Development Dollars

    • Leadership development

    • Access to thousands of on-demand e-learnings

  • Travel Discounts

  • Employee Resource Groups

  • Competitive retirement and health plans

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this United States based role is $184,000-$210,000.

We offer a competitive base salary and benefits including: health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave benefits. This role is eligible to be considered for an annual bonus and equity grant.

Work Environment & Flexibility

At OpenTable, we pride ourselves on fostering a global and dynamic work environment. As a team member with us, you will benefit from a schedule tailored to accommodate a global workforce operating across multiple time zones. While the majority of your responsibilities may align with conventional business hours, there will be instances where you are expected to manage communications - via calls, Slack messages, or emails - outside of regular working hours to effectively collaborate with international colleagues, respond to restaurant partners, and/or address urgent matters. OpenTable will always abide by and consider local laws and regulations.

Inclusion

We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels they belong and can thrive. We know the best ideas come when we bring different voices to the table, so we're building a team as dynamic as the diners and restaurants we serve—and fostering a culture where everyone feels welcome to be themselves.

If you need adjustments during the application or interview process, or on the job, we’re here to support you. Please reach out to your recruiter to request any accommodations.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
