About the Role

We’re hiring for a Director, People Analytics on our People Team. In this role, you’ll shape and execute the analytics vision that empowers Chime’s leaders to make data-driven decisions about our people, culture, and organization. You’ll lead a high-performing team responsible for transforming data into insights, building scalable infrastructure, and advancing our employee listening and organizational health strategy.

This role will report to the VP of People Strategy, Operations, Technology & Analytics (SOTA) and partner closely with People Partners, COE leaders, and senior executives to drive talent, performance, and organizational effectiveness insights that directly impact business performance.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $213,000 and up to $294,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead the People Analytics function — setting the vision, strategy, and roadmap for people data, insights, and storytelling across Chime.
  • Develop and scale the people data foundation by enhancing data architecture, governance, and integration across systems like Workday, Greenhouse, and OneModel.
  • Advance Chime’s employee listening strategy, including surveys, feedback loops, and organizational health diagnostics to measure culture, engagement, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Deliver actionable insights through executive dashboards, predictive analytics, and deep-dive analyses that influence talent, performance, DEB, and workforce planning strategies.
  • Partner with senior leaders and People COEs to translate data into strategies that improve retention, performance, and organizational health.
  • Evolve Chime’s analytics maturity from descriptive to predictive, introducing AI- and machine learning–based models that drive workforce insights.
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of curiosity, rigor, and storytelling that connects insights to impact.
  • Represent People Analytics at the enterprise level, collaborating with Finance, Data, and Tech teams to ensure a unified data ecosystem and trusted metrics.

To Thrive in This Role, You Have

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in People Analytics, Workforce Planning, or Data Strategy, including at least 4 years leading analytics teams.
  • Proven experience building and scaling a People Analytics function or data capability within a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
  • Expertise in employee listening, organizational health, and talent insights — ideally leveraging platforms like CultureAmp, Glint, or Qualtrics.
  • Experience with People Data Platforms (e.g., OneModel, Visier) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex analyses in a clear, compelling, and actionable way to executives.
  • Understanding of data governance, quality, and security frameworks across HR systems.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams on data infrastructure, pipeline management, or AI analytics a plus.
  • Strong leadership presence, influencing across HR and business teams to align analytics priorities with company strategy.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
