Directs the strategy, roadmap, reliability, modernization, and operational support of payroll and workforce management applications. Leads integrations, production incidents, implementations, releases, cutovers, controls, security, audit readiness, vendors, budgets, and technical teams. Partners with Payroll, HR, Finance, Security, Audit, and integration stakeholders to ensure accurate, secure, and supportable U.S. and Canadian payroll technology.

Must Have:- 8+ years of hands-on experience supporting payroll technology, payroll applications, workforce management, or time and attendance systems.
- Strong technical background working within an IT organization.
- Hands-on experience configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, or enhancing enterprise payroll applications.
- Strong end-to-end payroll knowledge, including Hours-to-Gross and Gross-to-Net.
- North American payroll experience supporting U.S. and Canadian employees.
- Strong experience troubleshooting production payroll application issues.
- Experience with payroll integrations, APIs, secure file transfers, data movement, SQL, and system interfaces.
- Experience supporting business-critical payroll production environments.
- Experience leading technical projects, teams, or application support resources.
- Ability to work onsite in Culver City 3 days per week.
- Own the day-to-day reliability and technical health of enterprise payroll applications.
- Lead production support and resolution of complex payroll, integration, configuration, data, and timekeeping issues.
- Perform hands-on investigation of application configuration, integrations, data exchanges, interfaces, and technical issues.
- Support payroll application enhancements, upgrades, migrations, releases, and maintenance.
- Partner with Payroll and business teams to define priorities and the payroll technology roadmap.
- Lead root-cause analysis and ensure permanent fixes are implemented for recurring production issues.
- Manage and provide technical direction to a small team of employees and contingent resources.
- Coordinate with architecture, security, data, infrastructure, HR technology, and other IT teams.
- Oversee vendors and external technology partners while maintaining internal ownership of issues and outcomes.
- Support critical payroll cycles and ensure payroll systems remain stable and available.
- Maintain technical documentation, support procedures, testing evidence, and operational standards.
- Strong technical payroll applications background rather than primarily HR or HRIS operations experience.
- Experience working within complex enterprise IT organizations.
- Proven experience supporting high-volume, business-critical payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll integrations and data exchanges between payroll and HRIS platforms.
- Experience communicating with both technical teams and payroll/business stakeholders.
- Experience leading projects or technical teams. Formal Director-level people management experience is not required.
- Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership and business partnership responsibilities.
