Job Summary

The Director of Partnership Sales works closely with the departments, SVP and entire AEG Global Partnerships structure/resources to generate and close sponsorship sales for the Los Angeles Kings and Ontario Reign. This position is responsible for seeing a sponsorship sale through completion which includes developing pitches, negotiating deal points, addressing client concerns, and finding creative solutions to partner assigned properties with brands. The Director of Sponsorship Sales will effectively ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual goals are met by employing various sales techniques, creating and maintaining new business relationships, and setting expectations for themselves.

Essential Functions

  • Lead all facets of the sales cycle including prospecting, customer assessment, analysis, strategies, best practices, ROI modelling, key industry research rollout, focus group information synthesis, competitive intelligence, marketing/sales proposals, and alignment to existing solutions.
  • Present business updates, new opportunities and industry-driven initiatives to the management team and sales leaders as required.
  • Lead in the development of client proposal, sales and contract negotiations through to the close of new or renewed business.
  • Identify and cultivates brands/marketing executives within targeted accounts who make event marketing and media decisions.
  • Create and develops presentations for clients and potential clients. This includes developing creative concepts for pitches, utilizing various resources for execution. Occasionally management of a budget related to sales materials.
  • Share revenue/profit building ideas and opportunities with other corporate teams and sales leaders and sale teams as required.
  • Create sales plans which are scalable for local, regional and national programs.
  • Support the development of complex-targeting sponsorship plans to address clients’ strategic objectives and meet the Company’s needs.
  • Build prospective client list of qualified accounts within the team’s assignments.
  • Execute effective corporate sales calls and presentations promoting our unique sales and marketing platforms in order to meet established sales objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree (4-year)
  • 6-8 years related sales experience
  • Experience working with team based sponsorships
  • Experience in sponsorship sales in a global role is a plus
  • Expertise in identifying opportunities and developing strategies and negotiating creative solutions
  • Must have a high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to work with leadership to effectively manage a sales team by motivating and supporting them to reach their sales goals
  • Deep understanding of the advertising industry
  • Exemplary problem solving, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to synergize the efforts of individuals and teams from multiple AEG business units to accomplish the goals of the company
  • Proven track record in building successful partnerships as well as consistently securing investments with FORTUNE 500 organizations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn required business system
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Platform preferred

Pay Scale: $140,000 - $160,000

Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
