QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA is a plus.  Years of experience may take place of formal education.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in operations implementation, execution, and strategy within Family Entertainment, Restaurant, Fitness, or Service-based industries, specifically in a corporate headquarters environment.
  • At least 2–3 years of proven experience in project management and leading internal communications teams, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration and field enablement.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with brand standards and business objectives.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and performance metrics in multi-unit or franchise-based environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% for park openings, operational rollouts, and field-based training or support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Monday.com), and communication tools.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional project implementation from concept to execution, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with experience managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities, with a history of motivating diverse teams and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to craft and deliver clear, timely, and consistent messaging to field operations and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Expertise in process documentation and translating strategic initiatives into field-level execution tools and training resources.
  • Adept at navigating ambiguity and driving clarity across departments through collaboration and structured planning.
  • Data-driven problem solver with strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implementation of Key Initiatives
Lead the implementation of Sky Zone’s key initiatives that impact company-wide execution. Ensure all end-to-end aspects—including planning, field readiness, tools, and training—are thoughtfully designed and delivered on time, on budget, and to brand standards. This role is also responsible for triggering and aligning key stakeholders across departments to ensure successful execution.
  • Project Management & Execution
Manage cross-functional projects from inception through launch, using formal project management methodologies and tools. Build and maintain project plans, timelines, and accountability matrices to ensure alignment, risk mitigation, and consistent execution. Track progress and escalate roadblocks to ensure timely delivery of initiatives.
  • Internal Communications Leadership
Own and manage internal communications for Operations Services, with a focus on delivering clear, accurate, and timely information to the park level. Ensure all messaging is aligned with project timelines and strategic objectives.
  • Operational Standards & Execution Models
Develop, document, and communicate operational standards, procedures, and protocols. Build and evolve the Sky Zone execution model to ensure consistency, quality, and operational efficiency across all parks.
  • Cross-Functional Activation
Serve as the primary liaison across all departments—including Marketing, Programs, Safety, Legal, Finance, Training, and Park Readiness—for initiatives requiring park-level execution and operational input.
  • Performance & Project Oversight
Establish KPIs and monitor progress for all operational initiatives. Own and manage the master implementation calendar to ensure alignment and execution across key milestones.
  • Field Enablement & Support
Deliver tools, playbooks, and training resources to support operational readiness. Partner with field teams to ensure park-level adoption and consistency.
  • Continuous Improvement
Identify gaps and inefficiencies in current processes. Recommend and implement solutions that drive greater operational impact.
  • Team Leadership
Build, coach, and lead the Operations Implementation team. Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture focused on accountability and execution.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires the ability to remain stationary at a desk for extended periods of time while working on a computer, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • This position requires the ability to move around for long periods of time during park visits, with or without reasonable accommodation.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
