Valcourt Group is seeking a Director of Operations to lead and manage branch operations within a defined local market. This role is responsible for driving operational performance, ensuring customer satisfaction, supporting field execution, and maximizing profitability across commercial facilities services.


The Director of Operations will oversee the operations delivery team and will have direct reports responsible for supporting project execution, service delivery, field operations, and branch performance. This individual will set performance objectives, ensure safety procedures are followed, evaluate and optimize operational performance, uphold company standards, and prepare operational financial reports.


The Director of Operations will be responsible for developing staff, fostering a positive work environment, ensuring proper branch operations, and supporting the continued expansion and success of the local branch.


This role requires a hands-on leader who can ensure the branch operations team is implementing strategies that drive safety, productivity, profitability, quality service delivery, and client satisfaction.


Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations for the local branch, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, profitably, and in accordance with company standards.

• Directly manage, coach, and develop three direct reports responsible for branch operations, service delivery, project execution, and field support.

• Oversee scheduling and assignment of contracted commercial service projects to the operations team.

• Move and allocate staffing during projects or service work to optimize execution, productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

• Forecast monthly revenue and gross profit projections in coordination with Project Managers and branch leadership.

• Ensure all operational processes and procedures are being followed, including job activations, change orders, service workflows, project documentation, and internal reporting requirements.

• Monitor budgets on all projects and service work within the branch.

• Conduct WIP reviews, ensure project management protocols are in place, and confirm that teams are managing work to budget.

• Implement corrective actions to ensure all necessary steps are being taken to manage projects, labor, materials, and service delivery effectively.

• Ensure all projects and service work are performed safely and in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

• Evaluate and optimize operational performance across commercial facilities services.

• Ensure company standards are upheld across all service delivery, field operations, client communication, and project execution.

• Prepare and review operational financial reports, including revenue, gross profit, labor productivity, job cost, and project performance.

• Establish performance goals, accountability measures, and operational priorities for direct reports and supporting teams.

• Foster a positive, accountable, and performance-driven environment within the branch.

• Partner with the General Manager and branch leadership to support customer satisfaction, client retention, operational growth, and profitability.

• Build strong working relationships with customers, field employees, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, productivity, margin performance, service quality, and customer experience.

• On occasion, directly manage select key projects or high-priority commercial service accounts.

• Report directly to the General Manager.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience managing branch operations within the commercial services, facilities services, construction services, building services, or related industry.

• Proven experience leading operations teams, service delivery teams, field technicians, labor teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.

• Experience managing direct reports, including setting expectations, coaching performance, developing talent, and holding teams accountable.

• Experience managing outside field workforces in the delivery and execution of commercial service projects.

• Familiarity and demonstrated use of construction management software, service management software, job cost systems, and EHS/safety software.

• Strong financial skills, including forecasting, budgeting, analyzing financial statements, reviewing job cost reports, and working with construction or service accounting systems.

• Ability to manage revenue, gross profit, labor productivity, project budgets, WIP reviews, and operational performance metrics.

• Effective oral, written, and presentation skills.

• Ability to lead meetings at all levels and communicate clearly with field teams, customers, leadership, and internal departments.

• Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization while treating all employees, clients, and partners with dignity and respect.

• Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to develop and challenge direct reports.

• Determination to promote from within when feasible to support company growth.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities.

• Strong computer skills, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, job cost systems, estimating platforms, and operational reporting tools.

• Enthusiastic, performance-driven leader who can translate company goals into operational plans, measurable objectives, schedules, and continuous improvement strategies.

• Strong commitment to safety, productivity, profitability, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.
