Samba TV is an AI-forward data, measurement, and technology company. Using billions of signals from smart TVs, data partners, and the open web, we connect what media people watch and consume with what they do online and the real world. We use this information to help the world’s leading brands make data-informed decisions in content and media planning, content and ads measurement, audience activation, and more. 

We are seeking a curious, forward-thinking, customer-obsessed, and technically-savvy insights leader that can dive deep into our databases to surface insights that add value to our customers and the marketplace writ-large. The role reports to the VP Measurement Science, and sits within the Measurement Science team, a consultative service organization responsible for using Samba data to add value to customers. This is a net-new role in the company, and the ideal candidate will be able to operate autonomously, navigate ambiguity, and manage through complexity to deliver results quickly for the business. The good news? We know we are sitting on a gold mine of data that no other data company can deliver - this role will have a critical position in shaping the next generation of insights products and services for the media market.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Innovate, Build, Iterate, Launch - You will proactively identify insights and data gaps in the global media landscape, and build automated solutions to fill those gaps. These solutions will include “scrappy,” prototype-style insights products (e.g. dashboards, LLM retrieval interfaces) that can be tested with sellers and customers, and sent to production when there is opportunity for scaled monetization.
  • Ideate and Deliver Bespoke, Consultative Insights - You will work collaboratively with sellers, sales engineers, product teams, and data scientists to ideate and deliver bespoke insights, service, or data solutions that add value and deliver ROI for Samba’s most strategic, high-value customers.  
  • Deliver Standardized Insights Reports & Improve Retrieval for Internal Teams - You will support business development teams by delivering standardized insights that sales teams will use in prospecting, pitches, customer outreach, and more. You will proactively improve the retrieval methods for standardized reports and recurring insights requests to enable self-service insights at scale among sellers

You enjoy navigating complex data bases to mine, shine, and distribute hidden gold within.
  • Boardroom Ready, Code Capable - You are equally comfortable presenting to the C-suite as you are heads down in a code base mining, visualizing, and interpreting data.  
  • Customer-Obsessed, Relentlessly Curious, Service-First - You’re an expert in media customers’ needs, pain points, and challenges. You always start with the assumption that the challenge can be solved with Samba data, and you are obsessive in proving that point, so you’re almost always right. Your relentless curiosity means you uncover new data points, metrics, or interpretations, and your service-first approach earns trust and credibility.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in media, measurement, activation, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills, executive presence, relentless curiosity.
  • Technical fluency in SQL, comfort in Python, experience in BigQuery and Databricks.
  • Knowledgeable and eager to leverage and incorporate AI into deliverables.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Expert-level understanding of buy and sell-side media customers.
  • Prior roles: Solutions Engineering, R&D, Marketing or Content Insights, or related fields.
  • Experience being a public spokesperson - speaking at events, on podcasts, and more.
