Overview of Position Responsibilities:
The MDU Sales Director strategizes and implements plans and manages sales and operations across all regions, Bluepeak communities/MDU, contractors, retail/tech hubs, and all employees in their given market across all Bluepeak footprints. This role will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all Residential MDU Sales and sales operations. A commitment to excellence is demonstrated through continuous staff development programs enhancing employee engagement, sales performance, knowledge, skills, and morale.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and maintain effective organization of responsibility, including efficient recruiting, training, coaching, recognition, workflow patterns, performance standards, delineation of duties and responsibilities, staffing levels and supervision.
- Responsible for the development, oversight and execution of effective sales strategies and tactics that maximize selling opportunities, drive penetration and help to grow Bluepeak’s customer base.
- Work with team and business partners to support and achieve penetration results in assigned properties by means of effectively deploying defined programs and identifying best practices and process improvements to share across the footprint.
- Review and work within budgets, making recommendations for changes when necessary. Make informed decisions and choices based upon priority, business necessity, and bottom-line impact.
- Handle territory assignments for residential and MDU Account managers. Identify and resolve territory and product overlaps/conflicts necessary to enhance sales.
- Communicate overall plan, strategy, and matrix requirements to field sales personnel; monitor and evaluate results.
- Ensure quality sales by regularly inspecting the quality of work of employees and contractors ensuring that all standards (federal, state, and company) are followed.
- Drive local results through community engagement in partnership with marketing and government affairs.
- Ensure that escalated issues are addressed and completed in a timely manner and that delays and/or revised time frames are communicated to affected parties.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Residential MDU Sales on projects with cross-functional/departmental impact, including but not limited to, running calls and providing project updates to key stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of competitive landscape and emerging technologies to best position Bluepeak products and services in the marketplace.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Role requires travel more than 40% of the time.
Total target compensation (base + commission) $175,000 - $200,000
What You Will Need:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 8+ years of Sales Leadership or Field Sales Leadership experience.
- Experience in telecommunications/fiber optics preferred.
- Proven experience with building and developing teams, measuring performance, and driving employee engagement.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
- Demonstrated coaching and counseling skills used to effectively develop all employees; influence and change individual behavior and assist employees to achieve a high level of success and productiveness.
- Adept at identifying potential project roadblocks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
- Effective time management with the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in changing and/or challenging situations.
- MS Office Suite: Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, Excel, OneNote.
- Software: ICOMS, Salesforce, Peakview, Ticketview.
- Experience with reporting, creating tables, process flow charts, high level analytics.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull and walk.
- Required to use hands, handle objects and paperwork.
- Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
- Required to refrain from personal use of technology during working hours.
- Required to lift up to 30lbs at a given time.
