About Nomad Internet

Nomad Internet is the nation’s leading wireless internet provider for rural communities, RV travelers, off-grid households, and those underserved by traditional providers. We believe internet access should be fast, simple, and available wherever life takes you. Our team is growing fast—and we’re looking for a Director of Marketing who knows how to build strategy, lead a high-performing team, and drive measurable growth across digital and offline channels.

Role Overview

The Director of Marketing will own all aspects of marketing strategy and execution—from digital advertising and conversion optimization to brand positioning, product messaging, and customer retention. This person will work cross-functionally with leadership, design, product, and sales to scale customer acquisition and maximize LTV across multiple verticals, including residential, RV, and business internet.

This role requires someone who’s equal parts strategic thinker and hands-on executor. You’ll manage in-house talent and external agencies, ensuring every campaign aligns with Nomad’s voice, values, and performance goals

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead Nomad Internet’s full-funnel marketing strategy (awareness, acquisition, activation, retention)

  • Oversee and optimize performance marketing channels: paid social, paid search, email, SMS, retargeting, affiliates, and influencer campaigns

  • Manage the marketing team (internal staff and external agencies/contractors), ensuring alignment on KPIs, timelines, and executional quality

  • Own CRO strategy, including landing page testing, ad creative performance, and checkout optimization

  • Guide messaging and positioning for new products, promotions, and partnerships

  • Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints—from emails and ads to packaging and post-sale experiences

  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership to report on performance, justify budget allocations, and refine growth priorities

  • Identify new opportunities to reach underserved audiences—especially in rural and mobile environments

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in marketing, with at least 3 years in a senior or director-level role

  • Proven experience owning digital acquisition (Meta, Google, TikTok, email/SMS) and brand strategy

  • Strong grasp of data analysis, attribution modeling, and full-funnel optimization

  • Exceptional communication skills—you can pitch a vision and lead a team

  • Experience working in high-growth or fast-paced environments; DTC, telecom, or internet service experience a major plus

  • Comfortable managing agencies, freelancers, and cross-functional internal teams

  • Hands-on familiarity with tools like Klaviyo, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Shopify, Recapture, and web analytics platforms

What Success Looks Like

  • CAC stays predictable and scalable as new audiences are reached

  • Landing pages and ads convert across mobile and desktop environments

  • The brand voice is consistent, human, and clear—even as channels diversify

  • Retention improves through thoughtful segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and post-sale nurturing

  • The team works fast, smart, and collaboratively—with clarity on what matters most

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
