Job Description

Ingram Content Group (ICG) is seeking a solutions-focused and creative Director, Marketing & Ecommerce Sales to join our team in New York.

In this role, you will develop and lead Ingram Publisher Services (IPS) marketing and direct-to-consumer ecommerce strategy to drive revenue growth for distributed publishers. You’ll manage a high-performing team that leads IndiePubs, metadata optimization, B2B, and D2C marketing services. As the Director, you’ll oversee the development and execution of marketing and digital advertising strategies that enhance title discoverability and consumer engagement. In addition, you will direct business development initiatives that drive growth through innovation and build collaborative relationships with client publishers to help reach their goals.

Ingram Publisher Services offers fully integrated and relevant solutions for independent client publishers. Comprised of digital and physical book distribution, sales, and marketing services, this part of Ingram’s business helps publishers discover more ways to connect with readers across the globe.  Based in Nashville, New York, London, and other locations, our teams are collaborative, innovative, and passionate about the business.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years of marketing experience within the publishing or ecommerce industry, with up-to-date knowledge of digital marketing
  • 5 years in a leadership role in marketing

Preferred Skills:

  • Book publishing or ecommerce industry experience
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • B2B and D2C marketing experience
  • Business development and strategic planning skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes data-driven and results-oriented strategies for IPS Marketing and IndiePubs ecommerce platform that drives sustainable growth to achieve revenue targets.
  • Implements innovative marketing strategies and services aimed to diversify sales channels and maximize growth of front and backlist titles across all formats for client publishers.
  • Leads the Metadata, Marketing, and IndiePubs teams to drive title discoverability and visibility, consumer and retailer engagement, and increase sales conversions.
  • Directs team to develop and execute title and brand marketing campaigns, incorporating SEO, digital marketing and advertising, social media and B2B marketing strategies.
  • Directs business development efforts to identify opportunities to expand, automate, and scale service offerings to maximize ROI.
  • Leads strategic planning, pricing strategies, IT development priorities, contracts, and vendor negotiations related to our marketing and ecommerce services.
  • Prepares and conducts presentations for executive leadership on business development and performance, tracking initiatives, trends, success metrics, and opportunities for growth.
  • Stays ahead of industry shifts, marketing and social media trends including new platforms, technologies, and audience behaviors

Hiring Salary Range: $150,150k - $190,930k. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. It will be determined by factors including but not limited to: the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geographic location, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
