About StartEngine

StartEngine is the FinTech powerhouse driving the future of fundraising and alternative investing. StartEngine was founded by Howard Marks, the co-founder of Activision (now valued at over $75B), with the goal of helping entrepreneurs achieve their dreams by removing funding barriers. Howard partnered with co-founder Ron Miller, a veteran entrepreneur and early advocate of equity crowdfunding, to build a platform that democratizes access to capital. In 2020, StartEngine welcomed Shark Tank judge and serial entrepreneur Kevin O’Leary (aka Mr. Wonderful) as Strategic Advisor and Investor. Since its inception, StartEngine has helped over 550 companies raise more than $1.1B from retail investors, with investments starting at as little as $100.

Why merely back a company when you can own a piece of it?

About the Role

We’re looking for a versatile and data-driven professional to lead demand generation and sales operations, with a strong emphasis on HubSpot (or similar CRM) expertise. This role is responsible for owning B2B lead generation—building and optimizing outbound/inbound funnels, managing CRM workflows, and partnering with the sales team to deliver high-quality leads. You’ll manage outbound campaigns, inbound landing pages, and re-engagement workflows, while also driving new partnerships, managing affiliates, and overseeing lead-gen vendors. Ideal candidates will bring experience in B2B SaaS or startup ecosystems, have strong content creation chops (newsletters, sales collateral, case studies), and be comfortable analyzing CRM data to identify trends. Experience organizing or hosting virtual events and webinars is a big plus. You’ll thrive if you’re scrappy, strategic, and passionate about helping sales win.

  • Completely owning all of StartEngine's B2B lead generation activities.
  • Partner with sales teams to deliver the highest quality leads possible and help them thrive.
  • Source, generate and reach out to new  potential partnership opportunities to help StartEngine reach more entrepreneurs and investors.
  • Understand and effectively communicate StartEngine's value proposition and partnerships as they relate to the growth of current and prospective clients
  • Lead deal execution for partnerships, including performing industry and company research, analyzing company impact, building financial models and performing due diligence.
  • Evaluate the financial and non-financial benefits and risks of new partnerships.
  • Track, report, and optimize the performance of partnerships, including identifying issues as they arise, assessing possible solutions, and executing those solutions.
  • Collaborate with designers, marketers, and other relevant team members to make exceptional partnership collateral.
  • Develop and achieve monthly/quarterly goals and growth targets
  • Attend events and public speaking engagements as needed

Experience We're Looking For

  • Extensive experience with Hubspot or similar CRM (building workflows, managing lead pipelines, automating outreach/re-engagement, curating lead lists for outbound)
  • Partnership/sales/account management experience = initiating new partnerships, managing existing partners and affiliates to drive B2B referrals,
  • Preferred: existing network or experience in the startup (accelerator, incubator, VC, angel, consultant ecosystems)
  • B2B demand generation experience: developing and launching outbound email campaigns + managing inbound lead process (owning the landing page and associated workflows)
  • Managing vendors who support lead gen activities
  • Experience identifying events (in person & virtual) to attend/sponsor to lead gen activations
  • Experience creating content: weekly newsletters for B2B founders & affiliates, sales collateral, and case studies/blogs
  • Experience working with CRM data and excel to analyze data and find trends (as it relates to B2B marketing performance and sales funnels)
  • Experience hosting virtual events/leading webinars (comfortable with presenting and public speaking)

Perks & Benefits

  • Generous Equity package
  • Unlimited PTO and sick days
  • Paid WeWork Usage (optional)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
