Position Summary
The Director of IT Infrastructure is the strategic and operational leader responsible for GT Independence’s technology backbone—ensuring our systems are secure, resilient, scalable, and designed to support a rapidly growing national organization.
This leader oversees cloud platforms, networks, systems, endpoints, identity, disaster recovery, and enterprise reliability, ensuring the technology foundation behind GT’s payroll, enrollment, customer care, and compliance functions runs seamlessly.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast‑changing environments, excels at building high‑performing technical teams, and can translate infrastructure strategy into dependable, cost‑effective, secure operations. Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, government, financial services) is especially valuable.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute GT’s IT infrastructure roadmap aligned with business growth, security needs, and modernization initiatives.
- Lead teams responsible for systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, networks, endpoints, and IT operations.
- Establish standards, policies, and best practices for infrastructure, availability, performance, and lifecycle management.
Cloud, Systems & Network Administration
- Oversee Azure/AWS cloud environments, virtualization, servers, storage, networking, firewalls, VPN, and identity platforms.
- Ensure availability and performance for GT’s mission‑critical systems supporting payroll, timesheets, enrollment, and customer care.
- Drive automation, monitoring, and optimization to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
- Partner with Security and Compliance teams to maintain HIPAA, SOC 2, and state‑specific Medicaid program requirements.
- Implement strong identity and access controls, patching programs, endpoint security, and data‑protection measures.
- Maintain disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and failover strategies across GT’s national footprint.
Operational Excellence & Reliability
- Ensure high uptime, reliability, and service quality across all infrastructure components.
- Lead incident response, root‑cause analysis, problem management, and post‑incident improvements.
- Build and optimize monitoring, alerting, SLAs, and capacity planning practices.
Vendor, Budget & Asset Management
- Manage infrastructure‑related vendors, MSPs, cloud providers, ISPs, and hardware/software procurement.
- Optimize infrastructure spend while ensuring performance and security requirements are met.
- Oversee IT asset management, lifecycle planning, and contract renewals.
Cross‑Functional and Strategic Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Security, Data, Operations, Customer Support, and Product to ensure infrastructure enables strong system performance.
- Support organization‑wide projects such as AI/automation, modernization, digitization, and scalability initiatives.
- Advise executive leadership on infrastructure risks, opportunities, and investments.
Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years of progressive IT infrastructure leadership experience.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (Azure highly preferred), identity systems, virtualization, networking, and enterprise security.
- Strong experience with monitoring, logging, high‑availability architecture, and disaster recovery design.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams in fast‑paced environments.
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, data privacy).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare, Medicaid programs, government services, or other highly regulated sectors.
- Background supporting multi‑state operations or distributed technical environments.
- Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, CCNP/CCNA, CISSP, ITIL, or related credentials.
- Experience with automation, infrastructure‑as‑code, and cloud governance frameworks.
