Job Description
BAE Systems Inc. is hiring an IT Service Owner in support of Business Development, Legal and Contracts. This leader has an innate desire to partner, build a strategic vision and drive this forward through execution maintaining excellent operational health. The leader is a relentless advocate of our stakeholders to align technology roadmaps to our business objectives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Director-level IT Service Owner with deep domain knowledge in business development, legal, and contracts. This leader will own critical applications including Salesforce, iCertis Contract Intelligence, legal systems, export management systems, and support the end-to-end processes within the value stream. This role partners closely with executive business stakeholders, IT delivery teams, architecture, cybersecurity, and operations leaders to ensure reliable, scalable, secure, and forward-looking enterprise capabilities.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Own and communicate the long-term technical vision and technical strategy for Business Development, Legal and Contracts technology. Develop a prioritized roadmap that aligns with the business goals of the departments.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure alignment between technology capabilities and business objectives.
  • Lead the product squads that support enterprise systems, including [Salesforce and iCertis]. This includes oversite of the application lifecycle includes software acquisition, deployment, and administration. Our squads include business analysts, configuration, testing, production support, and process management.
  • Drive the portfolio of applications to digital first mindset, leading to the adoption of AI, Digital Thread, visualization and analytics for the value stream. Maintain portfolio to regulatory, compliance, and policy standards to include DFARs and CMMC requirements.
  • Provide quality assurance through business architecture, requirements analysis, and user acceptance Testing (UAT) and serve as the final authority on whether a new feature or update meets the needs of the [Legal and Contracts] team.
  • Builds and maintains strategic partnerships with Systems Integrators and Software Providers to ensure BAE Systems Inc. interests are well represented.
  • Drive continuous improvement across service operations, including service health, KPIs, SLAs, and user experience.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for critical service failures affecting operations, ensuring rapid restoration of service, containment, and performing root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence and improve overall system resilience.
  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams, influencing without direct authority and collaborating across a matrixed environment.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts in clear business terms to senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Develop talent and build strong teams through coaching, performance management, and skill development.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, architecture, and data teams to ensure compliance, integration quality, and alignment to enterprise standards.
  • Maintain a strong executive presence during briefings, governance forums, roadmap reviews, and escalations.
  • Collaborate with software development, program management, and technical engineering teams to ensure cohesive delivery across enterprise technology initiatives.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
At least 12 years of progressive experience in IT, including roles in service ownership, application management, enterprise systems, or similar leadership positions.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Icertis Contract Intelligence (ICI) or comparable CLM platforms.
  • Deep understanding of CRM capabilities, data models, and integrations (Salesforce preferred).
  • Hands-on experience supporting legal applications, contract systems, and CRM products (including Salesforce).
  • Proven success in developing technology roadmaps and executing strategic plans.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Strong history of leading enterprise system sustainment and application lifecycle management.
  • Experience driving alignment across cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders outside direct reporting lines.
  • Ability to communicate technical and non-technical concepts clearly to executives.
  • Leadership experience building teams, developing talent, and fostering a culture of excellence.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $173023 - $294137
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
