Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) provides flight and mission-critical products to more than 600 commercial and 170 military customers around the world. We are seeking a Director I, Program Management Administrator for our Controls and Avionics business area to lead our journey in advancing and modernizing our project and program management competency across the sector. In this position, you will have the opportunity to develop, grow, coach, and influence program managers developing the next generation of engine control electronics, flight controls, and power electronics in all phases of the PM process and
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format with 25% travel to key sites other than the core site location (key sites in Endicott, New York; Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Austin, Texas). The hybrid work expectations for this role are three days per week on site during a 5-day work week and two days per week during a 4-day work week.
In this job, you will:
  • Take responsibility for management and execution of a Design and deliver training programs for program managers to enhance their skills and knowledge in program management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to program managers to help them develop their skills and address specific challenges.
  • Develop and maintain a program management community of practice to facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, and networking among program managers.
  • Manage and optimize a program management framework that aligns with industry best practices (e.g., PMI, Agile, Scrum).
  • Identify and provide opportunities for program managers to attend industry conferences, workshops, and training sessions to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Actively promote a culture of inclusivity, safety, health, and personal well-being for the program team.
  • Analyze and identify areas for improvement in program and project management processes and develop recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaborate with program managers and other stakeholders to design and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain program management tools, templates, and artifacts (e.g., project charters, business cases, project schedules, resource allocation plans).
  • Ensure that program management tools and templates are aligned with industry best practices and organizational standards.
  • Provide training and support to program managers on the use of program management tools and templates.
  • Communicate program management policies, procedures, and standards to stakeholders and ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among program managers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective program and project delivery.
  • Provide regular program and project performance reports to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain a data-driven decision-making framework to support program and project management decisions.
  • Facilitate, schedule, and track actions for all life cycle management processes and systems across CAS programs. This includes program reviews, return-to-green plans, and critical program reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with MCS mandates including on-time phase reviews, customer satisfaction reviews, and PIMMS configuration management and compliance.

Have ability to organize and prioritize work schedules on both a short-term & long-term basis, both for self and others. ability to make decisions which have impact on the business; ability to develop complex concepts and plans and communicate them effectively through formal or informal presentations, either inside or outside the organization. Regular requirements to use written and oral communication skills; interact with managers, staff, co-workers and others encountered in the course of work; ability to compose materials such as detailed reports and work-related documents and communicate substantively about them either verbally or in writing; communicate interactively & make presentations effectively.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • At least ten years of background and experience working in Program Management.
  • Require experience engaging in cross-functional teams including subcontracting, contracts, finance, quality and procurement organizations.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including program managers, project managers, and senior leadership.
  • PMP certification accredited by Project Management Institute (PMI).

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor degree with STEM concentration or 15 years of experience in lieu of degree.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
