About this Role

Muon Space is looking for a Director of Growth Operations to build and lead the operational backbone of our Growth organization. This role owns and scales the teams and processes that support Muon's business development and capture activities: Partner Management, Proposal Management, Technical Writing, BD Analytics & Research, and Pricing. You will report to the Senior Vice President of Growth and work closely with Business Development, Mission Architecture, Mission Innovation, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, Contracts, and Legal.

As Director of Growth Operations, you will be responsible for enabling Business Development and Capture Activities leading to achievement of Growth Targets, This is a player-coach role: you will manage and develop a multidisciplinary team while also rolling up your sleeves on high-priority activities, and you develop the team and processes to enable repeatable, scalable operations.

This position must be performed within the Northern Virginia or San Jose region.

Key Responsibilities
  •  Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team spanning Partner Management, Proposal Management, Technical Writing, BD Analytics & Research, and Pricing.
  •  Own end-to-end proposal operations — schedules, compliance, resourcing, and quality across multiple concurrent pursuits, in partnership with capture and proposal leads.
  •  Lead the Partner Management function: identify, qualify, and manage strategic partnerships and teaming agreements that strengthen Muon's competitive position.
  • Oversee the Pricing function during its initial stand-up, including price-to-win development, with a plan to transition or scale the function as the org grows.
  • Build and mature the BD Analytics & Research capability, including market intelligence, competitive analysis, and pipeline reporting to inform capture and growth strategy.
  •  Direct the Proposal Management and Technical Writing function to ensure consistent, high-quality, compliant proposal and capture content.
  •  Design and implement scalable systems, tools, and playbooks CRM hygiene and reporting, proposal templates, knowledge management, and reusable content libraries.
  •  Partner cross-functionally with BD, Mission Architecture, Mission Innovation, Engineering, Finance, Contracts, and Legal to keep operations aligned with pursuit and delivery needs.
  • Establish metrics and reporting to track team performance, proposal win rates, and operational throughput for the SVP of Growth.
  • Mentor, develop, and grow direct reports as the Growth organization scales.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in business operations, proposal management, or related business development support functions, ideally within aerospace, defense, or the space industry.
  •  Demonstrated experience building and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with pricing or price-to-win processes and cross-functional coordination with Finance.
  • Strong process-design and program management skills, with a track record of scaling operations in a fast-growing organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent priorities and competing deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the space or satellite industry.
  • Experience managing partners or teaming relationships in a capture or BD context.
  • Experience with CRM and proposal management tools (e.g., HubSpot).
  • Active or recent U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
Salary

The salary range for this role is $170,000 - $251,000, plus incentive compensation, competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
