You enjoy testing, iterating, and uncovering what truly moves consumers, and you can translate insights into actionable strategies. Your ability to balance growth metrics with creative brand storytelling makes you a natural fit for this role.

About The Role

As the Director, Growth Marketing, you will own goop’s paid and performance marketing strategy with a focus on acquisition and retention. Reporting into the VP of Growth & Digital Marketing, you’ll work closely with our in-house creative and brand teams as well as external partners to optimize paid campaigns, identify growth opportunities, and scale performance across channels. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead goop’s acquisition and retention strategies to ensure profitable CACs & high LTVs across all customer cohorts.
  • Manage the performance marketing strategy across paid social, affiliate, SEM, and other emerging channels.
  • Drive a culture of test-and-learn, extracting actionable insights from campaign data and customer behavior.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, data, lifecycle, and finance to align growth strategy with company objectives.
  • Lead and manage external agency relationships to ensure accountability and performance.
  • Develop and drive customer analytics frameworks focused on acquisition, retention, LTV, and cohort analysis.
  • Present growth performance, insights, and recommendations on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across brand marketing, creative, product, and ecommerce to ensure growth strategies align with goop’s brand identity.
  • Stay current on performance and retention marketing trends, tools, and best practices to keep goop ahead of the curve.

 Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in performance and growth marketing, with hands-on expertise in Meta and affiliate marketing; CRM experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to analyze and optimize paid campaigns with a strong understanding of ROAS, CAC, and LTV.
  • Experience creating and implementing testing strategies, from ad openers to key messaging signals, and translating learnings into scalable campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills with fluency in Excel and marketing analytics platforms.
  • Blend of left- and right-brain thinking—equally strong at data analysis and brand-forward creative strategy.
  • Background in beauty, fashion, or luxury preferred; brand experience a plus.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
