POSITION PURPOSE:
The Group Product Manager is a product leader who manages the product team responsible for a particular group of products or Line of Business/es. This role involves balancing individual contributions to product development with people management and development. The ideal candidate will have significant product management experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage both products and people effectively.
This role is essential in ensuring that our investors and credit and investment teams have the products and capabilities needed to meet evolving needs, delivering the best products and experiences for them. You will lead a team dedicated to one of our core businesses, credit, while also supporting various investment-related teams including OFS a subsidiary of CIM. You will also be a key driver of change across the broader product, operations, and technology teams, as well as stakeholders across CIM. This role will also play a critical part in transforming CIM’s Product Team by fostering a culture of agility, prioritization, client/user obsession, and outcome-focused delivery to create value across CIM.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on solutions and problem solving.
  • Define, own, manage and deliver on strategic roadmap for group.
  • Oversee the development of all product-related documentation, change management, support and related materials as applicable.
  • Mentor junior members of the product team through ‘coaching not doing.
  • Motivate and coach the product team to reach goals and achieve deliverables.
  • Own all products/system development related to the various teams.
  • Define and drive value-based delivery, including business case definition, when necessary, to measure, track and report on outcomes.  

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Finance, or a relevant field.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple contending requests and manage product roadmap.
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management in Asset Management, Wealth Management, Finance or related industries.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Significant product management experience and a solid track record as a Product Manager.
  • Deep understanding of the Investment Management industry and processes.
  • Ideally an understanding of credit, credit investments and lifecycle.
  • Understanding of the client/investor journey across investment management/financial services.

  • Ability to drive outcome focused initiatives in both evolving current products, as well as building out business case, and strategic direction for replacement of current products.
  • Be a self-starter, and someone who flourishes with autonomy, and some amount of ambiguity.
  • Strong and effective communication and clear leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage both people and products.
  • Strong product analytical skills and understanding of target market.

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required. ​  At CIM, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. This role is eligible for bonus pay in addition to base salary. The anticipated base salary range for the position in Los Angeles, CA is $180,000 - $250,000.
