ABOUT GOODR

We create and sell active eyewear for anyone. No Slip. No Bounce. All Polarized. All Fun. Interested in joining our team? Keep reading.

OUR VALUES: We have two core values: Fun & Authenticity.

  • FUN = Being sh*tty isn’t fun. Agreed? Taking pride in your work, finding joy in being GREAT, and celebrating wins… and losses. Now, that’s fun!
  • AUTHENTICITY = Focusing on being authentic over being liked. (Next-level guru stuff. Count it.)

Fun Fact: We do not allow email to be sent internally. Carrier pigeons only. JK, we use Slack.

LEADERSHIP: We expect our leaders to be guiding lights for their teams. To support that, we provide leadership courses to sharpen their leadership abilities, including an in-house leadership coach.

AUTONOMY: We practice autonomy, empowerment, and accountability so that every team member can be in control of their own life.

  • HYBRID WORKING: Most roles are only required to be in office every Tuesday and Thursday with the occasional third day thrown in.
  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: We have an all-company learning program so that we’re constantly leveling up our skills.

SUSTAINABILITY: We think Earth’s pretty rad. That’s why we take action wherever possible to limit our impact on the planet.

  • 1% FOR THE PLANET MEMBER: 1% of goodr’s annual sales go directly to environmental organizations.
  • CARBON NEUTRAL: In 2019, goodr became a 100% carbon neutral company.

Fun Fact: goodr celebrates every Earth Day by releasing limited-edition sunglasses with frames made from 100% recycled materials—and the packaging is 100% sustainable, too!

ABOUT THE ROLE

Do you get excited about turning something people love locally into a sensation people can’t stop talking about across the world!? As our Director of Global Sales, you’ll be the fearless leader taking goodr from local legend to international phenomenon. You’ll navigate time zones, languages, and customs laws with the skill of someone who once smuggled a giant inflatable flamingo through airport security (don’t ask).

This role is equal parts strategy, relationship-building, and “Wait, which country am I on a call with right now?” You’ll lead our international expansion by keeping our brand consistent while also finding ways to let foreign flavors shine. So if you can juggle a dozen worldwide markets without breaking a sweat, we welcome you aboard!

RESPONSIBILITIES

LEADERSHIP

  • Lead by example by consistently living into goodr’s values of Fun and Authenticity
  • Be a culture carrier by leaning into our three fundamentals of communication, professionalism, and vision

  • Give consistent, continuous feedback and challenge your flock to perpetually grow so they become the best version of themselves
  • Own your team’s budget and ensure its accuracy
  • Use imagination and wisdom to set team goals and communicate them clearly
  • Challenge the status quo ALWAYS. The phrase “this is how we’ve always done it” is banned here at goodr, so don’t be afraid to push out of your comfort zone and encourage your team to do the same

ROLE SPECIFIC

  • Spearhead the strategic direction for global sales and marketing, driving growth across direct-to-consumer channels and global distribution
  • Oversee the development and execution of global brand strategy to ensure consistent positioning while adapting to regional markets
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key distribution partners, meeting regularly to assess performance, align on goals, and identify new opportunities

  • Use data-driven insights to continuously optimize strategies and improve performance across markets
  • Partner with and manage our global agency to drive international growth
  • Monitor global market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and threats
  • Ensure compliance with regional laws, regulations, and import/export requirements
  • Travel as needed for meetings, market visits, and partner engagement

  • This role is in the Sale team and will report directly to the SVP of Sales & Retail Marketing
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
