At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.
This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.
GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.

Our team owns GoDaddy’s merchant payment platform, which is responsible for processing more than $5B in payments and more than $300M in payouts to GoDaddy’s customers. The Payments team at GoDaddy is high visibility and high impact. We act as a tailwind for all financial activities at the company when we deliver capabilities that optimize payment success. The Director of Payment Strategy and Operations will oversee the end-to-end payment lifecycle for GoDaddy brands, ensuring seamless transactions, optimizing processes, mitigating risks, and enhancing the overall payment performance. This role will focus on improving payment acceptance rates, reducing costs, and maximizing revenue opportunities within GoDaddy's ecosystem.
What you'll get to do...
- Payments Strategy & Implementation: Develop and implement a comprehensive payments optimization strategy aligned with GoDaddy's objectives and brand needs.
- Revenue Growth: Drive optimization of payment solutions across GoDaddy brands to monetize invoiced volume across the portfolio.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Work closely with payment processors, banks, and fintech firms to improve performance, expand market reach, and cultivate strategic relationships.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with vendors and partners to secure favorable terms and conditions that benefit GoDaddy's payment operations.
- Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, payment network rules, and security protocols, mitigating fraud and chargeback risks.
- Brand Experience: Deliver a world-class payment experience for our customers, ensuring seamless and easy payment collection.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Engineering, Care, and Finance teams to support payments-related initiatives and product improvements.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics to track significant measures, analyze performance data, and iterate strategies to improve impact.
Your experience should include...
- 8+ years of experience in payments operations, merchant services, or related roles.
- Proven track record in optimizing payment solutions with deep expertise in global payment processing, card networks, alternative payment methods, and compliance.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and working with payment processors, gateways, and financial institutions to drive alignment and execution.
