Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Director to join our team and support financial planning and analysis for key business partners within the Sophos Technology Group. This role requires expertise in cloud operations and R&D within a SaaS or technology-driven environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a team, partnering effectively with the business, and delivering actionable insights that drive financial and operational excellence.
What You Will Do
- Serve as finance business partner to senior leaders across the R&D function
- Drive planning, forecast, reporting, and month-end close processes, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives, business cases, and cost optimization projects
- Develop and manage cloud cost financial models, evaluate infrastructure investments, and optimize spend across cloud operations
- Drive enhancements in FP&A processes, tools, and systems to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in a rapidly growing organization
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, controls, and audit requirements for R&D spend
What Will You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in FP&A or Strategic Finance role; ideally in a PE-backed SaaS company
- Prior experience in SaaS or technology companies is highly preferred
- Relevant experience in cloud operations finance
- Demonstrated success managing and developing team of managers and analysts
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, etc.) and FP&A platforms (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan, etc.)
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, cost analysis, and forecasting tools
- Strategic thinker with a strong ability to connect financial metrics to business drivers, identifying opportunities for improvement and action
- Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration in dynamic, fast-paced environments to achieve results and create organizational alignment
- Self- motivated and results-driven with an ability to thrive in ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities
In the United States, the base salary for this role ranges from $180,000 to $300,000. In addition to base salary, we offer additional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
