Director of FP&A and BI:
Our ideal Director of FP&A and BI is a multi-tool player that will lead our FP&A and BI initiatives across the Company. Our ideal candidate is hands-on and can work in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for all areas related to Forecasting, Budgeting, Long Range Planning, Financial Modeling, Performance Analytics, Data Insights, Financial Reporting and Analysis, and EPM/CPM Systems. The Director of FP&A and BI will establish and implement robust forecasting and financial reporting tools, metrics, and dashboards. This position will address tight deadlines and a multitude of FP&A activities, which will include implementing processes, procedures, and systems. The Director of FP&A and BI will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams, requiring strong interpersonal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating and managing models for forecasting and budgeting for the full P&L, including revenue, costing, margin and all operating departments.
- Partner with department heads to drive financial accountability and support strategic initiatives with data-backed financial guidance.
- Forecast and budget creation and management which includes tracking key revenue, costing and expense metrics, including headcount and discretionary spending.
- Update official forecasts on a quarterly basis. Update official budgets on an annual basis. Forecasts and budgets need to be timely and accurate.
- Influence timely decisions to align with financials targets, which may include ad hoc financial analysis.
- Ability to recognize and implement process improvements and build scalable processes.
- Communicate and explain variances between Actuals vs Forecast vs Budget on a monthly basis.
- Create and manage models to support business scenario analysis.
- Implement and maintain a new EPM/CPM system and processes.
- Lead, drive and improve processes and systems that will help support reporting changes.
- Create/modify existing reports/dashboards as needed.
- Use data analytics to help drive business and develop insights into KPIs/Metrics.
- Support CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive finance and FP&A experience, with a minimum 4 years in management capacity.
- Strong critical thinking skills and execution ability.
- Prior EPM/CPM system implementation experience required. An expert in Microsoft Excel with proficiency in the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Have experience with designing and building a strong FP&A function from the ground up, with a focus on scalable processes and systems.
- Capability to implement and abide by Knowledge Management standards and methodologies.

- Delegation & Empowerment: A key part of task-oriented leadership is the ability to delegate tasks so each contributor is productive. Try to determine which assignments are best for team members by identifying their strengths and skills.
- Strategy, Creativity, & Innovation: Achieving goals on time requires thorough planning, innovation and creativity. You must be able to implement processes and plans that the team can understand and follow. They are creative in achieving their outcomes, e.g., setting incremental milestones that lead to accomplishing the overall objective easier to achieve.
- Emotional Intelligence: EQ is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. The takeaway here is that this is truly a learned skill and comes with maturity and experience so is one we could hope to demonstrate for the junior members of the team.
- Humility, Transparency, Candor: The ability to acknowledge mistakes and learn from them is demonstrated through transparency and proactive candor. The primary characteristic here is willingness to learn and grow.
