Description

Our mission at Oura is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their Oura Ring and its connected app. We've helped 2.5 million people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles.

Empowering the world starts with living and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.

We’re looking for a Director of Financial Systems to develop and execute the strategic roadmap for our financial technology stack. You’ll optimize and scale our ERP (NetSuite) and other critical financial systems, ensuring compliance with SOC2, SOX, and other regulatory frameworks. Success in this role requires exceptional project management, communication, and collaboration skills to drive efficiency and scalability.

As the Director of Financial Systems, you’ll own the strategy, execution, and continuous optimization of our financial systems, with a primary focus on Accounting technology and support for FP&A. You’ll partner closely with the VP of Accounting and VP of FP&A to enhance financial operations, improve automation, and enable data-driven decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage a team of experienced financial business systems analysts while also rolling up your sleeves to drive key cross-functional initiatives yourself.

What you will do:

  • Develop and co-own the strategic roadmap for our ERP (NetSuite) and core financial applications, including tax (Avalara), bank reconciliation (FloQast), expense management (Airbase), procurement, and enterprise performance management (EPM) solutions, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence.
  • Partner with Accounting and FP&A teams to streamline financial operations, automate processes, and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure strong controls, compliance, and audit readiness, ensuring adherence to SOC2, SOX, and other compliance frameworks as we scale.
  • Lead and mentor a team of business systems analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Security, Privacy, and external partners to enhance system architecture and data integrity.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to future-proof our financial tech stack.

This is a remote US role with a slight preference for candidates based in CST or EST timezones.

Requirements

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Certifications such as CPA, CMA, or NetSuite certifications are preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience managing financial systems, with a focus on ERP platforms such as NetSuite.
  • 5+ years NetSuite experience
  • Strong functional knowledge of core accounting processes as they relate to NetSuite ERP
  • Proven ability to build and scale high-performing teams, drive system enhancements, and execute effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial operations best practices.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in a high-growth or pre-IPO environment is a plus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
